Any longhaulers noticing vision changes?
Has anyone noticed vision changes who are long haulers ? I have astigmatism and have worn contacts for probably 25 years, however I was just beginnig to need a weak OTC reading lense to read, I was 48 at the time I had covid. In OTC readers I wore a +1.50 my eye doctor had told me not to buy anything stronger than a +1.75 until I seen him again the following year. About 6 months after having covid in a period of about 2 months my reading vision began rapidly deteriorating. I had to buy a +2.75 ! I went to my eye doctor and began explaining to him what happened & the first thing he asked me was if I'd had covid & if I was sick longer than a couple of weeks (I will sick for 4 months). He said it had happened with other patients. He dialated my eyes & checked them out & said he couldn't see any damage to my eyes. However, now it seems as if my fat away vision isn't exactly as it should be. It's only been 4 months since I went to the eye doctor but I'm thinking I may have to go back before April of 2023 for my next visit.
Has anyone else had this happen to them & if so what were you told by your doctor? This is just one of the slew of problems I have from covid. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance and God bless us all and may we all get thru this together.

I am working with Occupational therapy that specializes in head trauma/closed head injuries. They found that a lot of our symptoms are very simular. Working with visual coordination. The quest for answers and healing continues.
yes, my vision has gotten much worse since I got covid early in '20. very discouraging. not the worst of my symptoms, but very aggravating nonetheless. best of luck to you.
I’ve been wearing new prism glasses for a week. They make me very dizzy unless seated and keeping my head still. I’m very disappointed.
Wondering about other’s experience with prism glasses.
I too am experiencing eye problems. I had Covid in mid May 2024… 8 days in ICU then a Pacemaker before I was discharged.
I’m seeing my Eye doctor tomorrow for my problem.
I also have extreme to moderate dizziness. I’ll let you know what my doctor thinks.
Yes, when driving and look to, say my left, to make a turn I see double. I have to fully turn to my left as my peripheral vision is unreliable.
I have the same problems with my eyes since Covid..2021! It is frustrating! The best to you!
I have posted quite a bit on this thread. Just an update here.
So far prism glasses have not helped me. My eyes have trouble changing focus from near to far, vision is very blurry, and light sensitivity extreme. Since the prism glasses didn’t help, I decided to try new contact lenses to see what might happen, and at first it seemed almost a miracle. My dizziness subsided, and my vision was pretty clear. Perhaps I wore them too long, but later my eyes felt gritty and hot and sore. I’ve taken a two day break, and my eyes still feel sore.
Perhaps now my eyes are just too dry for contacts. I use rewetting drops often, but it doesn’t help much. I had worn contacts before having lasik surgery, and then cataract surgery. My cataract surgery seemed to make my problems worse.
I guess contacts was a long shot, but I keep looking for answers.
Yes to vision changes. I have always had 20/20 vision, but used little readers for fine print. Since long covid I have peripheral double vision left eye, very dry eyes all the time. Had prolonged Meibomitis, followed opthamologist instructions for weeks.
Myeyes,ears,sinuses,skin,
mouth are all desert dry.
Me too. I’m very, very dry. I have been tested for Sjogrens three times, and it always comes up negative.
For some reason my dryness abated for a short while, then came back in full force! It seems impossible to ever get over this thing!
Has anyone had vision changes since having Covid?
