Hi are you starting the steroid rinse?…If so, it seems to be helping..the doc said some people stay on the rinse for life! ( I asked him how long we have to stay on it?

Having to pull your teeth out? I never had to do anything that dramatic…& it’s hard to find answers.
I started out using a steroid mouth rinse. It worked well except that I was urinating frequently around the clock.
My local Dermatology PA researched and came up with another rinse with no steroid in it. It is called Tacrolimus. I get it from the compounding pharmacy. It really helps. I also sometimes rinse with Dental Pro 7. It is a herbal mixture from the UK. You can use it to brush your teeth also. If I have a particular red, irritated spot, I will put a couple drops on my finger and rub it on the spot. It will relieve the pain and soreness.

Unreal..someone researched got you! Are you in the UK? It’s interesting that the toothpaste you mentioned is only available in the UK! The doc said the amount of prednisone you absorb will me too small to affect anything as I was worried about weakening the bones & was hesitant…I will try a compounding place and Amazon for the tooth paste!

@hikeema123 MMP refers mucous membrane pemphigoid, an autoimmune disease. are you asking because you think you might have MMP or you were just curious?

@hikeema123 I’m sorry that you have all that throat mucous. I looked at your profile and it seems like you have some GI issues. Wonder if th excess mucous could be part of that.

I have had 2 gum biopsies to determine that I do have MMP. It started out in my mouth. I had the first mouth sores while on cymbalta. I also have it in my eyes. I first noticed what looked like bands in the outer aspect of my left eye. I now have them in the inner aspect of my left eye and outer aspect of my right eye. I am limited in taking the top 3 prescribed medications because I am allergic to yellow dye and yellow compound. I would like to know what medication/s other s are taking for this condition.
I was diagnosed with MMP a few months ago. I have been on steroids, mouth rinse, clobetasol, Doxycycline HYC. Now they have cut back to 20 mg of steroids and have added mycophenolate (this medicine the possible side effects scare me). I still have blisters in my mouth and arms, I'm wondering how long before all of this works. My mouth is better, gums are no longer bleeding or that sore. Has anyone tried eating better food / no gluten and it resolved the issues?
