I just joined and read your post and was wondering if you are still losing hair. I had a Prolia injection 3 weeks ago and my hair has become so thinned out and I’ve had super thick hair my entire life.
I had my first Prolia shot in January and still am suffering bad side effects-bones cracking, gums inflamed, hair loss, bloated, and fatigued. I resisted the Prolia however several Drs. highly advised it. My osteoporosis is not horrible - I do vigorous exercise about 10 hours a week- weight training, barre, yoga, spinning and take a great amount of natural calcium from foods and supplements. I am 75 with a 55 year old body and Prolia has made me miserable. Mentioned this to my endocrinologist - and she will put me on actonel after 5 months of Prolia. I just want to go natural after all this but I heard I cannot go cold turkey from Prolia otherwise high risk of fracture. Really horrible to be held hostage by this drug. I had endometrial cancer 7 years ago and had chemo and internal radiation- I think the chemo weakened my bones.

Similarly, I exercise vigorously, (excellent diet) basically Mediterranean diet + lots of dairy and calcium magnesium with zinc and vitamin D. I’m at my high school weight. Years ago, I was on Actonel for a period of 5 years. It worked very well. I hope it works for you. My plan is to ask my endocrinologist for that hoping there will be no fractures from getting off Prolia. Did your endocrinologist think that’s a high possibility?
Started Prolia about a year ago and after 3 injections am experiencing major hair loss. My dr says there isn’t any indications that it is caused by prolia but I want to stop treatment which isn’t advised. Any recommendations?
I only had one injection last year, and my hair was coming out in clumps. I've been losing hair ever since perimenopause started about 10 years ago, but Prolia took it to a whole new level. I did not get any more injections. After some research, about 5 months ago I started using a shampoo designed to slow hair loss. I'm sure it doesn't work for everyone, but for me, it's worked better than I even hoped it would. My hair loss is now at normal levels, like it was before perimenopause.
There are several shampoos for hair loss on the market. After researching them, I chose Pura d'or Hair Thinning Gold Label Shampoo, and I buy it directly from the company's website. The price seems high, but I'm still using the bottle I bought in October, and it's nowhere near finished.

After the 3d shot of Prolia, my hair started falling out in alarming handsful.I didn’t take any more shots and the loss slowed down but not before I lost more than 50% of my hair. Lucky for me, I used to have read thick hair.I went on Risedronate-once a week pill- but my hair continues to fall out but in much less quantityThis all started a year ago- July 2023.I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and does their hair grow back?

kfmgm, I lost a lot of hair after surgery and from Thyroid Disease a few years ago. Synthroid medication for Thyroid made my hair come out terribly. Stress can also cause hair loss. Can the doctor try you with another med that doesn't cause hair loss?
I like you had really thick hair. I lost handfuls of hair both times after having COVID. I thought I was going to go bald. It is coming back again from this last time of COVID. It just takes time.
I would go and see a Dermatologist and let them diagnose what kind of hair loss you have. Low B12 and other vitamin deficiencies also can cause hair loss.
I honestly could tell no difference with vitamins, shampoos. Minoxidil (Rogaine) made my scalp each terribly and so I couldn't use it. I realize most of us do not have the hair we had in our 20's, but, we sure would like to keep what we do have, right?
Try not to put extra stress on your hair. I don't know if you are male or female, but, I assume you are female. Don't wear your hair up too tight in a bun or ponytail as this puts a lot of stress on your hair. After shampooing, let your hair air dry if possible. Also, use a wide toothed comb gently before after shampooing and conditioning to get the tangles out.
Praying for you as I know how this makes you feel. Blessings to you.....

I have seen a dermatologist. She has no idea why my hair fell out. I do not have alopecia. She recommended Rogaine as long as I am very consistent with it. She said it would take 6 months to see any results.
I am just getting over COVID for the 3D time.

I hear wonderful things about the red light therapy helmets, combs & brushes. They are a little pricey though! I honestly suspect COVID is driving some of your hair loss.
Ask your doctor before trying the red light therapy due to the medications you are on.
I'm so sorry you have had COVID a 3rd time. Such a hard virus. God Bless You!
Same side effect for me after 2nd injection. Have an appointment with an endocrinologist in a month. Will not take Prolia and am so sorry I did!

I buy Routine shampoo on-line. It has completely stopped my hair loss. $25 a bottle but I have short hair and it lasts about a year.
I've had 3 infusions also but haven't had hair loss
