Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

Heck
Hello, my partner (male 70’s) was diagnosed with Grover’s last fall and has suffered badly with rash/itching on his back, chest, abdomen and eventually arms and legs and even feet. Tried many different steroid creams, moisturizing creams, oral meds, etc. FINALLY learned about cilantro on this site. He ordered tincture and puts it in juice. That started over a month ago and within 5 days we noticed improvement. He’s so much better! It’s the ONLY thing that has helped. Good Luck! 🙏🏻

One quick note, all. I have worn underwire bras for years. I recently read of women who experienced a weird rash from Victoria's Secret bras. I stopped wearing their bras, mainly because of the strong odor that arrives with their material but also worried the underwire would aggravate the condition. Have any women here changed their bras? Sorry for the double post; I should have edited which I will do in the future.

My Grovers was very itchy for about 2 years then it subsided. Now I'm mildly itchy. Ask your doctor about light therapy. For me after a couple of months of 3 times a week treatment it helped significantly.

A cilantro extract (herb pharm sold at Whole Foods, amazon, etc.) has completely cleared by Grover's. I take one full dropper a day. My trunk and chest were covered in red bumps a month ago, and it has all cleared up (after 10 years of dealing with Grover's). Not sure these results are translatable to everyone, but I hope so. Was just at my dermatologist and he was amazed given the general lack of a cure (topical steroids hadn't worked for me).

I’m tempted to order the cilantro extract. Are you still using it? What side effects if any? I am also on the dementia connect site. My husband has Mimd Cognitive Impairment but also Grovers. I was interested in the detox effect of the extract. I’m wondering if his impairment is from mercury and other toxins from working as a dentist for 45 years. Just wondering

I was just officially diagnosed as having Grover's. A different biopsy from a 2nd dermatologist confirmed. 1st thought it was but the surface type biopsy came back negative.

Anyway, I'd tried Triamcinolone before and it didn't seem to help much. Reading up here I started using Denorex as a body wash for affected areas and generous application of Sarna (0.5% campho and 0.5% menthol) and that seems to work for a few hours, esp if I'm not active so I can mostly get thru a work day now

My Herb Pharm cilantro extract just arrived from Amazon and will start that this evening and hopefully see some good effects.

I've been prescribed many different steroid creams and ointments to no avail. I have adrenal insufficiency, so I do not suffer from the addition of steroids. I recently found an old bottle of Nystop anti fungal and tried it on the Grovers' outbreak that all across mu torso, front and back. The next morning the outbreak was almost completely gone, so I continued to use it until the bottle was gone. I am completely free of any pustules since. I was diagnosed with Grovers via biopsy in 2013 and have been told there isn't a cure for it. Now I am thinking that I was misdiagnosed all this time and have been suffering for no reason. I believe this to be true, as I've not been free of the pustules since the original outbreak. I am free now and have been for the last two weeks. Perhaps I had some type of fungal infection this whole time. Hope the pustules do not come back!

Wow! Amazing results for you using a fungicide! Cilantro put my GD into remission over 4 years ago, but I will make a note of your success with Nystop. My husband uses that on his chronic groin rash with accelorates in the summer heat. His fungas is simply an itchy red rash but he doesn't get pustuales.
Did your pustuales heal quickly? With GD I found that even when a pustuale ran it's course and went into remission the scab wouldn't fall off for over 6 months. If scratched, the scab would return although the the itching was gone. It sounds like your pustuales healed very quickly.
If the pustales come back try blending fresh or frozen cilantro and chug it down like a nasty tonic. Do that daily for 2 months and after that for a few days every few months. Cilantro is a heavy metal detox and GD has been tied to heavy metals just like Alzheimers and Parkinson's.

I was so just diagnosed with Grover’s from a biopsy, I had it all over my back to start with and now I also have it on my stomach, legs, arms and top of neck near scalp. The itching is driving me crazy. I have had a cortisone shot, taken steroids,am putting clobetasol cream on it, have used hydrocortisone lotion and Triamcinolone cream and am on an antibiotic. Nothing helps with the itching except taking 2 benedryl pills which makes me sleep. Not an option when I working. They also gave me pills for itching but they don’t not work. I have had this for about 2 months now with no relief. I have scratched so much my stomach burns. It is hard to get to sleep unless I take Benedryl but then u can’t get up the next day until 1:00. I am at a loss because I know I cannot handle 6 to 12 months or possibly years with this insane itching.
