How about a laugh, (hopefully)

Posted by Leonard @jakedduck1, Dec 31, 2018

I believe laughter is the best medicine. Laughter has actually been scientifically proven to help people with depression issues.
Let’s give it a try so we can all get happy and feel better. Many Epilepsy forums I’ve been on had joke sections. I was probably the biggest joke of all since I didn’t get a lot of the jokes. They said the jokes couldn’t be above 4th grade level for me to understand them so my jokes may be rather simplistic but let’s give it a try.
Have a lovely day everyone,
Jake

I ate some cooked spinach once and it was like a cow chewing its cud. It was like chewing on a lot of grass that got bigger and hard to swallow.
Does sauteing make it go down any easier? I love raw spinach.
Thanks,
Jake

Sauté in good quality, real olive oil with garlic, and use on pasta, make an omelet, spread it on garlic bread, add mushrooms when sautéing, top breaded (with Italian flavor bread crumbs) boneless chicken breasts fried in olive oil.

(Can you tell I’m part Sicilian!)

EVO and garlic is a staple at my place . I’m Irish/English and that’s the way I cook.

@imallears Most people use them. I like Italian food. My DNA has me with ancestors all over the Northern Hemisphere. However my grandma was Sicilian so that’s how Mom cooked.

Chicken joke:

Q. Why did the chicken of Irish/ Sicilian descent cross the street with a bag filled with spinach, kale, EVOO and garlic?

A. To get to the other side.

@itchyd

The chicken heard there were supply chain issues and is hoarding. She has to go back to get potatoes and pasta. Don’t know about you but I’m chickening out on these chicken jokes.

I didn’t realize my spinach cooking advice was in the How About A Laugh thread. It should have been in the cooking thread. I guess I was squinty eyed. I owe you an apology.

No need to apologize.

You sparked a lot of good commentary, and that's good thing!

Quite to the contrary, Scott, I demand an apology.

Because of all of the spinaching and EVOOing and cooking advice, I baked a spinach quiche, then ate the whole thing in one sitting. Now, my stomach hurts
.. and, by God, someone's going to pay!

You can sauté the spinach in OLIVE OIL and add a little fresh garlic.

Really delicious. I like to add a touch of fresh ginger.

Gilligan, the skipper and the Professor also tried to add a touch of Ginger, but she wasn't in the mood.

Fortunately, Mary Ann was.
