Need help! Depression and anxiety
I don't know where else to go without going to a hospital. I've always had issues with depression and anxiety. It is tough to deal with, but I have a grasp of what it is at least. I've been taking 10MG of Lexapro and 1-1.5 MG of Klonopin to treat it. My psych doctor died in January and I started with a new doctor that upped my Lexapro to 20MG and put me on Buspar for anxiety.
She then decided to take me off the Klonpin. She had me go from 1-1.5 to only .5 a day a month ago and then cut me off. My anxity was already starting to increase that month, and a few days after I stopped the klonopin I faced massive panic attacks among a ton of other issues. It took some begging for help until she eventually put me on .5MG of Atavan but I don't think it is working.
My current symptoms are this horrible brain fog that is impairing my basic functions. I forget things easily, I can't concentrate. It feels like I've literally got dumber. I am clumsier. I keep almost walking into poles and today I almost got run over by a bus. I'm beyond irritable. I almost attacked a man on an elevator because of his breathing, and I've never had such violent thoughts before. I've had brief sucidical thoughts that I had to talk myself out of because I rationally know I don't want to do that.
When I stretch my neck it hurts. It feels like my neck or back is violently ripping in two. I'm having out of body experinces. I am sitting at work and suddenly I am not sure if I am dreaming or not
I also have headaches, I'm pacing constantly. I am having muscle spasims, twitching, my hands tremble.
This is terrifying. I've never felt like this in my entire life and I don't know what is going on. Is it the Buspar? The Atavan? The lack of Klonopin and should I go to the hosptial? My doctor isn't around on the weekends. Any help will be appericated.

I had never put a name to my leg activity during sleep, until I recently read an article about it, and realized there was a label for that. The prescribing psychiatrist told me to keep taking it for the safety of my wife. That's one med she doesn't complain about me taking. I guess that as long as Klonopin does the job, I won't worry about taking yet another med specifically for restless leg. I did go through a period of a few weeks when my arms and legs would move involuntarily, and regardless how hard I'd focus, I couldn't stop the jerks and trembling. A strange sensation.
I also have sleep apnea, and use a CPAP, which has improved my life dramatically. It's now possible to do a preliminary sleep study at home. I always recommend a sleep study to people who are having sleep related issues. A CPAP is a non chemical treatment approach, and it's always nice to find a treatment that doesn't involve taking yet another med.

1 ReactionHi @jimhd, have you seen out the sleep apnea thread in the Just Want to Talk group? It's a great active community and CPAP has come up several times - I'd highly recommend checking it out! https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/sleep-apnea-29d741/
Let me know if /when the new group starts, I would be interested in joining. I have never spoken to others that have gone through it.

3 ReactionsAsk to see a Doctor of Pharmacology to help wean off of your meds. Ever since I had gastric bypass nine years ago, I am very sensitive when starting and discontinuing a Rx. I was safely weaned off of Fentanyl, and all opiates that followed without any side effects.

1 ReactionHI @lesbatts I am not a medical professional at all, but I would say start with your GP. They are all going to need to coordinate your care anyway. Plus there are two types of doctors of pharm. One is an academic/researcher and one is more of a pharmacist training.
Just my two cents plain,
Peace and strength,

3 ReactionsYes whenever you have feeling of harm to yourself or others and you can not see your doctor you should definitely go to the ER.While there ask about a referral for a doctor, you can also while in the ER call your insurance company for a doctor even call AMA to get a referral. Don't try dealing with your depression your self.
With most insurances you need to start with your GP and get a referral. If you do not need a referral it still a good idea to go to your GP or even ask for a referral from your area hospital they have a list of doctors affiliated with their hospital Another place would be at your areas mental health center or clinics. Make sure you ask for a doctor that will meet your specific needs.
