Good for you, if I could afford it I would probably do it.

Yeah, it’s more expensive now. I’m now scheduled to have a lipoma removed. It’s due to pain though. A general surgeon is doing it. I’m sure there’ll be quite a scar, but….I don’t think my insurance will pay for a plastic surgeon to do it.

I had several lipomas removed at Mayo. Some under general surgery and some under dermatology dept. Very minimal scaring. Insurance paid for part of the surgery.

Good evening. I totally agree with you. I am 82 years old now. When I was 72, my life partner and I went to San Miguel de Allende to visit my business partner and friend. She introduced us to one of her neighbors who was a special surgeon for faces, necks, etc. We met with him and agreed to come back the following year for face "lifts," chin "reductions," and some other fixes for our eyes.

The surgeon had his own operating theater, and he actually picked us up at our friend's house the morning of our surgeries. We were both thrilled to see the results in about four days.

This surgeon is one of the medical doctors who has formed a support group for children with facial reconstruction needs. They dedicated Wednesdays to helping younger folks who needed some face-lifting but didn't have the resources. They also helped older folks who had arrived even 50 years ago but with disfigured faces.

It's been a while now, and I am still very pleased with my new "chin and face". My life partner found out that he could see once again after his eyes were altered.

Good luck to you.
Chris

I’m probably in the minority here but I am almost 77 and have silvery hair, fortunately few wrinkles because I always stayed out of the sun ( may be genetic too, my Mom died at 92 and she had pure white hair and no wrinkles ). I have no intention of ever having anything done in the way of cosmetic surgery. But if anyone feels they need it, go for it if you feel you need it. I’m just gonna age gracefully and be glad for every day I have left .

Hey there! If it is something you have been wanting to do , absolutely go for it !! I am 68 and I had a face and neck lift a couple of years ago . I am very happy with the results ❤️ I believe in aging gracefully, but most importantly, happily.
All the best!!

I retired from my 32-year career in Information Technology in 2008 at the age of 58, tired and stressed out.

I decided to gift myself with a facelift and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The surgeon was highly experienced and had a reputation of 1) listening to what the client’s concerns were and 2) making changes that look natural rather than ‘fixed’.
It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. And the results have been long lasting.

I also recommend avoiding sun exposure without a 40 SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from sun damage. I have very fair skin that doesn’t tan and as a result, I had my first skin cancer while I was in my 30’s, so I’ve been applying sunscreen daily ever since.

I am 74 now and I am still very pleased with the results from that decision I made 16 years ago.

I had a facelift when I was 48. I'm 82 now and my face looks a lot better than what it would have looked like without it.
I had breast cancer at 79 and I was given the full treatment ; chemo radiation and lumpectomy. My oncologist said I looked young for my age and he figured I do well during all the care I needed. I asked him what made me look young and he pointed to my smooth brow and no frown lines between/above my eyes. I didn't mention why I looked young, but I was pleased! I'm now in remission.

I’m appreciative of these positive responses and results - would any of you feel comfortable sharing who your doctors were either here in the group chat or messaging me directly? I would travel based on the comfort of knowing these results. Thank you all!

My sister and husband had the "bleph" surgery to remove excess eyelid tissue. In my husband's case, he had lost periferal vision as well as upward--his eyelids covered his pupils. Medicare paid for it all after a qualifying visual field. My sister's was more cosmetic, after years of wearing glasses, and she had to pay for the entire deal. I would have some fillers, etc if my budget allowed, but not in the cards. I just will be a wrinkled, Arizonan.
