So very sorry that this has happened to you at such a relatively young age. Keep searching, become your own, best advocate, Don't let anyone, especially doctors, tell you, "Just learn to deal with it". No! For every effect there is a cause. YOU know the effect...pain. Now, keep searching for someone who can be willing to put in the time and effort to lacate the cause, and then treat it, even if it is a bandaid that masks the pain. Do you know what brought about your presnt condition?

I have congenital spinal stenosis in my cervical and lumbar spine plus believe ai have autoimmune inflammation that may have started with breast implants (breast implant illness due to silicone liners) and also may have been triggered by pregnancy at 39. Things started when I had pain in my lower back, hip and buttock and an orthopedic doctors said my spine looked like someone 20-25 years older than I was (when I was 42). I have tried to get answers from many doctors and it has been an expensive and depressing process. It feels like you go in circles and get nowhere and wast so much time/$$ while your quality of life goes downhill. I had to get my implants removed myself because my insurance company would not cover the cost of explant but I was desperate to get to the bottom of my systemic inflammation. I have gained 75 pounds in 11 years which makes pain, ability to exercise and energy levels worse. I feel like I am in a hamster wheel going nowhere when I want desperately to recover some quality of life.
Easy for me, but, you know to take control of your pain. Doctors can tell you what to do, but its you life, your choice on how you want to live it in spit of the pain. I practice hypnosis, it helps me more then pain pills which are limited.
Never give up, continue to look for what will work for you.
This is a great site, information might help you.
I have horrible SFN in my feet as well as peripheral neuropathy and other painful issues. Can you share with us what has worked for you with your wonderful doctor? Thank you please be specific as it will help others
I have had a Bston Scientific stimulator implanted in 2012 and another in 2018. Unfortunately the second implant was not well done. In Jan of 2023 my pain management doc did a trial implant to cover my feet. I could only have it for two days but for two days my feet were pain free. Due to many oter things going on, no further steps were taken about a new stim. Just this past week I saw a spine surgeon workng with my pain management doc. I have ct scans scheduled next week of spine. After he sees the results he will have a better idea as to whether he can take out the two old stims and put in a brand new one. I use a power chair to get around where I live but use a walker for appts and such. Even in the power chair my feet are painful. I am looking forward to results.

I live in the Capital District of NY. Albany Saratoga Pain Management is led by Martin Ferrillo, DO.
Research spinal cord stimulators. There are pros and cons about them. Only had mine for six weeks and have a bit of pain relief but have been told it may take months to tweak the program for me (a remote) . Sorry to hear you suffer so. I understand about the weight as it has happened to me as I have sat so much for over a year. Stay positive and keep searching
