I'll start with three quotes from the very inspiring Helen Keller as noted in "Your Year of Healing" book by Amit Sood, MD:

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it."

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched -- they must be felt with the heart."

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

Well, I've always followed the advice in a Janis Joplin song: "Don't turn your back on love."

Never, Never Give Up!
Following that mantra, I've survived lung cancer twice, major back surgery, Stage 4 esophageal cancer (10 hour surgery followed right after by going into a deep coma for 2 months with my death certificate ready to sign), head on car crash with a truck on a bridge over Lake Washington and entire head & neck being thrust thru the passenger side windshield then back in again with my body getting stuck under the dashboard - missed severing my jugular vein by a mere 1/8th of an inch, survived major MRSA infection which was rampant worldwide at the time & which I got during back surgery @ the hospital, & 4 mini strokes. Amazingly I'm still here and in pretty good condition at 80 yrs of age all things considered! I so believe in this mantra I had a silver necklace made and inscribed with the words.
