I believe we're still waiting for insurance confirmation, etc. I am doing research on the differences between RNY and sleeve, and trying to identify the pros and cons to both. I'd be very happy to get to the point where I could take fewer medications and no longer need to use a CPAP. I was once a very active, healthy, and able to go and go. While I do understand age slows people down, I so look forward to more energy. My only concern is feeling ill from eating too little. I am a rule follower, so hoping that'll help maintain my overall wellbeing and increase my energy instead of reducing it further.

RNY is more successful than the sleeve With the sleeve
It tends to stretch over time if you do t change eating habits. I had the RNY in 2016. Still kept the weight off
Effortlessly. Some of my friends with the sleeve are now on weight loss injectables as their weight creeped back

The important part to keep energy is not amount of food eat but what eat. There is emphasis on protein in pre and post surgery diet.

Original RYGBP 09/09/2019 Chronic abdominal pain Since Revision due to GGF. 10/22/2023.
PLEASE STOP DOING RYGBP SURGERIES until you can actually FIGURE IT OUT PLEASE. I’m at about a million dollars and just now starting 1 of 3 Journeys I will need!!
Skin removal. Blocked Urethra. Chronic abdominal pain.
I’m in for a million dollars so far!! I’m afraid I’m losing the will to continue. I’ve been chastised by the entire medical field in OHIO! There is NOT A SINGLE medical professional in this STATE!

Gastro fistula Doctor didn’t close properly! So doctors reply if you want and tell me different. Better find out in a year or no law suit you know because you should know you have a problem and get scheduled in 6 months…. Bariatric liars for me. I was told Dumping syndrome. Wow I wish!!!

My apologies. I didn’t realize I didn’t explain what it is. It is a tube the body forms between the old stomach and the pouch that was created as the new stomach. The food was dumping directly to the other stomach and dumping directly to the large colon. Thus I was starving due to malnutrition. Sorry I’m trying very hard to forgive and forget. It’s not going well. As I have at least for me 2 more surgeries. One to clear the way so they can get into my body to check on me. I feel as if I have a colonic fistula to my bladder. Symptoms: urine same color as feces at times. No urge to go poop but when I urinate mid stream I have to shut it down and sit down to poop but only to fart. Nearly every time I urinate.
Which after 2 years of waiting for skin removal I have to continue the wait as that was scheduled for the end of this month. Plastic surgery wants nothing to do with me. I can’t blame them. It’s just the on going SAGA… Am I depressed no. I’m totally done with all my pain and symptoms and suffering I’m human. I have thick skin and Broad shoulders but even the Fitzpatrick Bridge Was Shoved down!!! I’m a tough guy. I even broke 4 Ribs in 6 places and sprained my clavicle then rode my dirt bike back through the woods last year and didn’t go to the ER until the NEXT day to find all that out!!
I’m tired and have been backed into a corner. Again I apologize if I come across as gruff as I am. I’m Not a bad guy just in a Bad Spot.

Thanks for additional information, I had not heard of that complication. Whenever you have surgery they list all the complications, maybe they mentioned it, just do not remember.

Did some research and based on studies, it occurs in 1.3 to 6% of RNY surgeries. Does not matter how rare, if you happen to be one of patient who has problem.

What type of surgery are you having to repair?

RYGBP I’m glad the revision was a 45 minutes surgery. Although a 4-5 hour surgery was planned.
No explanation why it was cut short. I understand Mechanics but I’ve never planned an overhaul for 4 hours and been able to shorten to 45 minutes.
If it’s So Rare Why was I treated So badly. No respect. All I wanted was the reason why. I’ve never been told! No communication just arrogance.
