Did anyone have a missed diagnosis of NSCLC?
Did anyone have a missed diagnosis of NSCLC? I had a routine chest Xray in the ER incidental to any lung issues. The radiologist saw a suspicious nodule and recommended a CT scan follow up. The hospital never gave me the report. 4 months later, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. The nodule had grown from 1.4 to 3 cm. Curious as to how unique this is.

Yes. I don’t mean to hover. I’m sending good Juju !!
Great news!
Yes, CT showed no discernible adrenal mass.
So it was lung cancer as expected and was dissipated by lc chemo.
Thanks for asking.
That is so freaking awesome!! Very happy for you both.
Fourth/last planned chemo is tomorrow. Then we’ll see what’s next.
@abob, Great! So glad that the mass has cleared, and that the chemo is doing its job! Thanks for posting the update.
Saw oncologist today. She thinks that although adrenal mass is now indiscernible, there may be lingering cancer specs and so removal of this adrenal gland is warranted. She will discuss with surgical oncologist. Sigh.
Well you have two. I think i would want it gone for the very reason she cites.
Yes, luckily thus far lung and adrenal are one of two. 🙂
Hi, there. I may be missing updates or responses as I'm using my phone, so my apologies if there are..but did you have a biopsy done? A biopsy is the only way to diagnose cancer. I would be shocked if a CT scan was all you had, yet somehow someone determined it was cancer?!?
Yes to both. Go back on this thread and you will find he had a primary lung cancer and as he began chemo for that, an adrenal mass was observed. The hope was that it was a metastatic incidence of the lung cancer and if so it would demonstrate a reduction in size on CT. It did and so they are Celebrating
