Did anyone have a missed diagnosis of NSCLC?

Did anyone have a missed diagnosis of NSCLC? I had a routine chest Xray in the ER incidental to any lung issues. The radiologist saw a suspicious nodule and recommended a CT scan follow up. The hospital never gave me the report. 4 months later, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. The nodule had grown from 1.4 to 3 cm. Curious as to how unique this is.

Yes to both. Go back on this thread and you will find he had a primary lung cancer and as he began chemo for that, an adrenal mass was observed. The hope was that it was a metastatic incidence of the lung cancer and if so it would demonstrate a reduction in size on CT. It did and so they are Celebrating

Yes, thx. But Oncologist still thinks best course is to remove the adrenal due to possible sneaky remaining cancer specs. Just did final/4th LC chemo treatment yesterday. Will speak with surgeon.

@abob, Great! So glad that the mass has cleared, and that the chemo is doing its job! Thanks for posting the update.

So very disappointed with communication btwn clinicians.

My husband’s LC tumor on adrenal gland no longer discernible following final LC chemo.

Oncologist recommends Adrenalectomy asap due to possible remaining cancer specs; 2 weeks ago she said she would discuss with surgical oncologist and request earlier followup appt with him,

Surgeon office just called to discuss good CT results (from 2 weeks ago) and to cancel his follow-up appt as no longer needed bc tumor is now indiscernible.

Since they did not connect, I requested from both that they pls do so asap. There’s just so much I can do to make this happen.

Is time not of the essence with cancer?

I see that we must be our own advocate. This is my husband’s life.
