Hello. Did you have any type of viral illness prior to the onset of the numbness and tingling? That is what kicked off my neurological symptoms. I had an initial episode 25 years ago, and a very bad one about a year and a half ago, with flare ups in between. I still have some symptoms, but more intensely when I am ill or under stress. Mine turned out to be benign fasciculation syndrome.
Hi @anon25user -- yes, I experienced sensory loss, numbness and tingling over entire body at 21 and have had it ever since. The tingling comes and goes. Numbness is worse in some spots more than others, but has never left. For me it's due to rare HNPP (Hereditary Neuropathy with Pressure Palsies). My EMG and NCS tests all came up abnormal, but it wasn't until my son had genetic testing due to neurological issues when he was 21 that we discovered it is HNPP. Very frustrating disorder for both me and my son. We have different issues and common issues.
I've been experiencing this for sometime now. And the doctors keep telling me it's panic attacks. I've had only one Dr. State that it might be seizure activity. I was up in Geisinger Danville for a week; being monitored for seizures; nothing happened until after I was discharged. Here lately I've been experiencing whole full body loss of sensation and numbness/ w tingling all over my body. My whole body gets warm and tingly and I get a metallic taste in my mouth, and my body looses all sensation, my brain starts squeezing and my heart starts beating really fast. But it seems to manifest in all different ways. And I don't know where to get help. I just started with this new therapist who works with CBT. I've done this kind of therapy before so I hope this helps. Thanks for ready and understanding.

@nl1964 I used to have similar experiences and what you describe is what it feels like right before I would pass out. Have you passed out? I also would be aware of sound and could understand what people were saying after I had lost my vision for a few seconds and then I was out. I’ve also had panic attacks for fear of surgery that I needed. I can also tell you that I was able to work through all of it and deprogram the fear, so this doesn’t happen anymore and I have had more surgeries. It’s good you are working with a counselor. When you get past it, you won’t live your life worrying so much. You can do this.

Thank you 😊. I read this to my husband. It's really weird all of this started after I suffered two mini strokes 11 days apart. It's really something how the brain works and can cast unbelievable fear/ doom upon one's life. My husband and I are strong believers in our faith and I/we will continue to have faith, pray and hold on. Matthew 2:17. Thank You Again For Sharing And Understanding 😊❤️.
Hello, thanks for replying. No where I live we don't have that type of therapy. All of this started after I suffered two mini strokes 11 days apart. I am currently seeing a psychiatrist and I was just getting a lot of different med. switching; but nothing is helping. I just started seeing another Dr. and we're talking about CBT. So this is the closest I got to some sort of medical help. My husband and I are faithful believers so we're going to keep our faith/ pray and hold on this is what our church is teaching/ prayer for me. I'm going to pray Matthew 2:17 and believe that I will be Healed. Thanks Again For Sharing 😊❤️.

I have.I have a ton of symptoms, but loss of feeling in the whole trunk of my body and sensation.I can feel me touching the outside of my belly, but all other sensation is gone.I don't feel food going down to my belly either. All the strength in my diaphram/sternum area is gone as well.I don't have that muscle pushing the belly down anymore. It is so bizarre. My synptoms came on after an iron infusion/possibly covid.I am thinking Covid is more likely because it is beyond weird. The neurologists are testing me for èverything and have not found much. They don't understand what it is.I have been tested for all kinds of autoimmune diseases too.My Brain MRI along with other tests came back clear.Did you happen to get covid?

Lyme or bacteria?

Have you considered trying an alternative therapy, like acupuncture?

Keep the faith!
Sometimes, in my darkest, most fear-filled hours post-stroke hours, I would let go and say, "Not my will but Thine be done." I'm still around, so...
Anyway, I just did a quick video on Spirituality as part of my YouTube channel about my stroke recovery:
