@elsinann ......thank you sto much for your reply. .it gave me comfort. The waiting is what is so stressful. I'm real good than all of a sudden I start to panic. I do have faith so I get on my knees and pray. It helps me. I've been thru a lot. But I can't tell you how many Drs. Missed this. They planned my extended abdominal on my bad surgery fron breast cancer. I want to call everyone of them and tell them how they have hurt me. .i keep thinking of dining and though I know where I'm going I just am a little afraid. Sorry I'm ranting ? Forgive me. But you sound kind and comforting. Thank you.

Been checking every 6 months on size. I am told at 6 cm to consider stinting. Last check 2 weeks ago. Measured 5.9, approximately 2 cm larger that 6 months before this last one. I need to know the limits, whether it blows at 6.1 or 8. Kind of nervous about waiting 6 months for another check. Am 77 years old. Like to live a a little longer. Bob Ireland

Hi @bobireland, welcome.
I moved your message to an existing discussion about abdominal aortic aneurysm so that you can meet other members writing about the same issue. Please meet @janetpomponio @elsinann @trish602. You may also wish to read this older and ongoing discussion http://mayocl.in/1WX0ypo

The decision on how to best treat an aneurysm or the aorta depends on its size and rate of its growth, location and your overall health. A quick google search showed that 5-5.5 cm is typically the size when surgery is considered. You can read more on MayoClinic.org here http://mayocl.in/2hag0w8

Bob, I wonder if it might be time to think about getting a second opinion?

Hi @mamamae, welcome to Connect.
I gather you have an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

According to this Mayo article http://mayocl.in/2rBFyaQ there are lifestyles changes you can apply to manage AAA. Do you avoid lifting heave things and avoid stress (easier said than done)? I suppose with COPD, exercise must be a challenge. What activities are you able to do? Are you on oxygen?

Hi, I just do my everyday cleaning, have to rest a lot. I go out and sit on porch.not much I can do..I have oxygen at night on my Cpap. My doctor said I was high risk for the operation. He said he could do it with me just sadiated. But if i had trouble breathing and he had to interbate me he doesn't think I would be able to be taken off. I don't know what to do..I am so scared
