NAFLD (nonalcoholic fatty liver disease): Want to connect with others

I’m looking for anyone dealing with fatty liver

I was told I had a fatty liver well before Covid. In fact my blood work has been better ( ie liver enzymes) since having all the vivid shots & boosters. I have changed my diet also.

My blood work show normal liver enzymes. Hence, I was surprised to receive the NAFLD diagnosis. Just had a liver scan and my liver is “ not too fatty”. But, I will be seeing a nutritionist. What type of diet do you follow now?

I was also told I am ‘prediabetic’ with an A1C of 5.8. Generally cutting out processed foods, I salt nothing (bread is full of salt!), sugars and baked goods. I lost a couple of pounds , it takes time I only needed to lose 10 lbs. I eat a lot of vegetables, some fruit, fish, low fat dairy but not much of that and very little meat

The inter-relationship of Covid vaccines and liver issues is very interesting to me as I have just begun researching chronic autoimmune hepatitis and GERD. Thank you for your post; it is a boost to online investigation and drilling down deeper!
Yesterday's online research revelation was that there is a connection between GERD and NAFLD in that blocking stomach acid with PPIs may promote chronic liver disease. (NIH Research Matters, article by Tianna Hicklin, PhD, Oct. 24, 2017). Another article, a meta-analysis by Karn Wijarnpreccha et al in the Saudi Journal of Gastroenterology published in the Nov/Dec 2017 issue, p 311-317, notes that patients with GERD have two times the risk of NAFLD compared to those without GERD. Their analysis also showed that central obesity and metabolic syndrome are linked to NAFLD and GERD and that visceral fat plays a role in insulin resistance.
My recent Rheumatoid Arthritis Factor test resulted in a 90.2 and subsequent antibody tests suggest lupus, chronic autoimmune hepatitis, scleroderma, myositis overlap syndrome, and/or undifferentiated connective tissue disease. I am waiting to learn what steps will be taken next - and while I wait, will be searching online for more data. ;->

Right above your post is mine concerning NAFLD. Very interesting info concerning GERD and the use of ppi's. 2 years prior to my NAFLD diagnosis i developed severe acid reflux of the tonsilary tissue. Was prescribed 40 mg Esomeprazole for a year. The developed canker sores and lost skin on the roof of my mouth. Went to an Oncology ENT. He told me I can never take meds for acid reflux ever again, not even peocid over the counter, was highly allergic. But subsequently developed NAFLD. I go for my yearly Fibroscan of my liver in Nov. 2024.
Changed diet, no tylenol, no more MRNA modetna vaccines, no alcohol, lost weight. Oh and no more abdominal cramping. Maybe NAFLD is reversed.
I will keep the blog pasted. Keep Reading, Keep Asking Questions and BE Your Own Advocate
Take Care
