Oral lichen Planus: What home remedies or medications help you?
Anyone in the group suffer from Oral Lichen Planus. I am at my wits end with all these erosive sores in my mouth. I've had two biopsies , one in the inside cheek and one under the side of my tongue. The spot under the tongue is extremely sore to touch and has been for over a year. It scares me because the soreness never goes away, sometimes it isn't as sore but nothing helps. Any home remedies for this dreadful condition?

My son was prescribed Flovent asthma inhaler by his dermatologist. Instead of inhaling he is instructed to
puff it on the sore areas several times a day. Easy to use but expensive. It is fluticasone a steroid as well.
@lsan15 Lyderm is a prescription medication so you would need to get a prescription for it from your dermatologist or family physician.
This is what the brand name box looks like:
@lsan15 this is the generic name:
@lsan15 I just squeeze out a drop at a time of the gel and rub it on inside my mouth on the sore areas, leave it in my mouth for about a minute and spit out. It is impossible not to swallow some of it - just as it is impossible not to swallow toothpaste, but spit out what you can.
If it is not considered a prescription item in Malaysia you might be able to find it in regular stores where you buy toiletries like creams, lotions, etc., or on Amazon Malaysia.
Betamethasone soluble 500 mcq tabs. I’m also on one doxycycline 100 mg caps. Daily. Plus 1500 mg b12. Originally it was thought I had shingles. Then lichen plan us. After biopsy turns out that I have pemphigoid mucosa. So my mouth blisters badly than have ulcers. Got so bad I used babies toothbrush to clean teeth and progressed to sonic toothbrush. So whist I do not have the same condition as u I hope this helps.
I forgot I also have to apply synalar 0.025% gel on blisters as soon as they start
Thanks. Need to ask my dental surgeon
Is all OLP will turn as cancer? What's the best way to avoid malignant transformation? Anyone can advise. As my oral Surgeon said that olp will not turn as cancer while leukoplakia can. While internet literature said that there will be the possibility of malignancy from 0.44% to 1.7% bit confused. Anyone can advise
Where to find CBD oil? Could you please share the link?
Was diagnosed about 20 years ago and for years I could avoid flare-ups by eliminating mint, cinnamon and peppery sauces and changing toothpaste to a children’s brand without mint. Only needed the prescription chlobestol (sp) rarely.
But this flare-up is very stubborn as the burning sensation rarely subsides. On my own I just thought of swishing aloe vera (in distilled drink form) and spitting it out but will find aloe in gel form and try the same.
Meanwhile, even the children’s toothpaste is uncomfortable and I am looking, looking, looking for a mint-free, citrus-free toothpaste. Does it even exist? What are the alternatives? Thanks!
