April 2026: Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Awareness
April is Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize the unique challenges faced by individuals ages 15–39 diagnosed with cancer and to highlight the specialized care designed to support them.
Mayo Clinic’s Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program provides comprehensive, age-specific care addressing both medical and life challenges such as fertility, relationships, school, work, finances, and emotional well-being. The AYA team—comprised of nurse navigators, social workers, and patient navigators—is part of a multidisciplinary care model and works alongside cancer care providers to ensure each patient’s unique needs are addressed, empowering patients with the knowledge to make informed decisions aligned with their treatment plan and personal goals.
Along with the regularly provided Cancer Education Center offerings the follow activities will be offered virtually enterprise wide, and in person in Rochester, MN.
