Zepbound and Hair loss

Posted by luamiller @luamiller, Jan 6 8:32am

I have been on Zepbound for about a year and I am experiencing hair loss/thinning. I have been taking 5,000 Biotin, but still happening. Anyone else experience this and what has helped you?

I have been on Zepbound for exactly 1 year and started experiencing hair loss the last 5 months. My weight loss has not been rapid and it’s actually fluctuated the last 3 months since I have been determined to exercise and eat better instead of increasing my dose (2.5mg). I eat protein and take supplements. I would be curious to hear what your doctor says, I meet with my doctor next week. I love the empowerment I feel by taking the medication and the control I have over my eating and cravings, but I’m not willing to lose more hair over this so I’m considering weaning off. I’ve read online that hair growth products don’t work against GLP-1 hair loss. If anyone has any success stories, please share. I would also be curious to know if I have to quit taking the drug completely to begin hair regrowth. Or if I could reduce the dosage to every other week or monthly.

@cocobean603 I agree with what you have just shared. So let me know if you get any answers.

Update from me - it’s October. Hair loss stopped and started coming back around August. Am stable at .5 and 63 pounds but going to try to reduce dosage. So glad to hear about the protein shake. I need it. Thanks!

Try a hair oil called Vegamour. It is a little pricey but works amazingly!!

@danawyn tried it. I had results for a while, but then it stopped being effective.

I'm getting ready to start Zepbound. I already have lost some hair and I don't really know why. I'm on Spironolactone 50mg and Minoxidil odil 2.5 mg. It hasn't really helped. I've used Vegamour shampoo/serum with no results. I do not plan to exceed 5 mg on Zepbound. I am scared to death of the hair loss. From what I've read, it starts about the third month, but nothing about it starting, stopping and starting again. I already have fine thin hair and I sure don't want to lose more. They try to make you think if you do it slow slowly that you won't lose it. From reading these comments that doesn't seem to be true.
