Yeast infection not going away
This year I've been treated for 5 yeast infections. Just finished my last round of 14 day Diflucan. Going back this week as it is not gone.
The gyno has cultured it and it came back as the most common type, albicans.
Got tested for mycoplasma and ureaplasma, negative.
Negative stds and diabetes or high blood sugar.
Finally got prescribed Brexafemme, a different drug. My insurance initially denied it then approved it only to find out it's not even being sold on the market right now.
This last round of Diflucan ruined my gut and Im not sure why Im even going back to the doctor if they have nothing for me...
Culture it again?.....ok..I guess..
I've been taking probiotics and boric acid suppositories. Just bought probiotic suppositories to try. Done the monostat, the creams, the diet. No partner, keep dry, free and clear detergent, no douching, sanitize washing machine regularly.
NO IDEA.
Nothing seems to work. Im just so miserable.
Never had this happen.
Anyone with resistant yeast infections?

About 50 years ago a doctor told me to use cotton underwear only. It has been so many years but I do know it helped.
Just a thought.
@januaryjane I would have a yeast infection every month. Could not get rid of it…no matter what I did. I went to a naturopath who put me on Nystatin….to clean it out from the gut. I had been on many antibiotics which cause yeast. Also, I was told that the birth control pills I was on was causing the yeast. Cut the sugar out also. I purchased probiotics…the ones you put in the fridge…Megafood for women. I also started eating Organic Plain non fat yogurt…Yogurt is excellent in building back good bacteria taken away by antibiotics , birth control pills and other medications. I made sure that I did not sit in a wet bathing suit….i took it off right after getting out of the pool and showered with DOVE Sensitive Skin Soap -Dove Unscented. You never want to use any scented products on your body…they will just make the yeast grow. Try to not wear underwear. When I went to work…I wore long skirts…so, I didn’t have to wear underwear or stockings. It’s important that you air yourself out. Also, 2 Liters of Water a day. I did all this for a couple of months and I haven’t had a yeast infection in years. I love to swim and I am still mindful to not stay in any damp swimsuits or shorts. I still only use unscented Dove on my body. When I use the bathroom…I make sure I have a bottle to fill with water to pour over my vagina and make sure no stool has been there. A bidet would be wonderful. Also, don’t recontaminate yourself with your undergarments. Wash your 100% cotton underwear separately . Then, put it outside to dry in the sun. That is the only way the yeast will be removed from your underwear . The dryer will keep the yeast on , even after washing. Buy underwear that is loose…not tight. Just old fashioned 100% cotton underwear. If you don’t have a clothes line or a rack…discard the old underwear and buy new ones. Wash before use. The factories carry a lot of contamination. Please contact me if you have any questions. I know what a horror yeast can be! God bless xx
That’s exactly what I wear . 100% cotton. Wash and put them outside on the line to dry. The only way to get rid of yeast is if the underwear is in the sun drying. 👍🏻
That's too bad that you can't get rid of yeast infections. I used to get them when I was younger; (I'm79.) I used Mupirocin and it worked great and got rid of the yeast infection. It has to be prescribed by a doctor. However, it sounds like you have had a lot of ointments already that didn't work so maybe Mupirocin wouldn't be any different.
Rosa had some good suggestions; especially the plain yogurt. I eat that everyday and I haven't had a yeast infection in 20 years!
