Worsening exhaustion and LC symptoms

Posted by crowlee @crowlee, Jun 10 4:32pm

Has anyone else noticed that? I seem to be getting worse after having LC since Jan 2024. I also now have allergies which I never had before so much so my eyes swelled shut. My heat intolerance is through the roof; I got heat stroke yesterday at work inside (!) where it was warm, but not hot. I had to leave and spent yesterday and most of today lying down.
Has anyone experienced things like this? I’m at my wit’s end - nothing helps.

Prescription Low Dose Naltrexone is being used by several people Long COVID. It helps me with additional energy (I have constant fatigue and post exercise malaise) and it stops about 50% of my inflammation so minimizes my pain. It works by suppressing your endorphins for about two hours and then your body over produces endorphins for about 6 hours - for me, the additional endorphins gives me more energy. I take it in the morning as, for me, it causes insomnia if I take it too late. It also gave me quite vivid dreams (not nightmares) the first two weeks I was on it.

Side effects are varied so docs usually start you quite low like .5 mg or 1.5 mg and work up slowly to a max of 4.5 mg. Some people do better on less than 4.5 milligrams so you have to decide where your sweet spot is. I like 3.5 mg for me. It will not cure me but does make my days more tolerable.
