Worry
I find myself worrying about when I’ll have the next episode. Also I’ve become reluctant about driving for fear of having an episode.

Hi! I had AFib for nine years and had episodes or palpitations twice a month - mainly caused by stress and anxiety. I did try Sertraline for a while and had no palpitations but not nice side effects from the drug. My beta blocker Sotolol helped with the episodes but not always because of the stress. I made up my mind to not worry about driving and having an episode as I could always pull off the road if necessary and call 911. Your worry is causing you to have episodes so you should try to relax and not think about it. Talk to your doctor about your worry and anxiety and hopefully you can get on with a normal life. Take care. xo
Do you consume anything with caffeine? Lots of sugar or processed foods? If so, eliminate and observe what happens shortly.
No caffeine. Limited sugar and processed foods, but will eliminate 🤞 Thanks
Hopefully a mentor will see and comment.
What I know about Mayo Clinics (I go to Mayo Jacksonville) is that they do not accept ALL Medicare Advantages but do accept some. It is very selective though.
All Mayo's have a insurance section that can help to determine if your insurance is covered.

No Medicare Advantage plans contracted at Jacksonville FL
Hi Charlene1479,
I have persistent AF, now controlled with dofetilide (Tikosyn). Before I was back in sinus rhythm I was in constant AF even with rate control meds. Heartrate as high as 175 and almost always above 110. I was this way for six months and just went about my life. Yes, I had terrible fatigue and was miserable but didn't worry about exercising or driving. I have Apical Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and my cardiologist at Mayo, Rochester was reassuring that while we needed to get it under control, I should continue my regular activities.
It's only Mayo AZ that doesn't take any Advantage Plans. Fla. and MN still accepts some but not all plans. Hope this helps.

I had heard same about Mayo Jacksonville and that it was Phoenix only.
I do know Mayo Jacksonville restricts accepting any Medicare Advange to only a couple. They also limit the amount of Medicare patients they accept also. Many of those who live in my 55+ community cannot get into Mayo.
I don't think all understand when you go to Medicare Advantage you are out of traditional Medicare and under the insurance company you have chose. Most of those are HMO types but they also restrict how much and what they will pay for. Thus Mayo reluctance to go outside of tranditional Medicare.
I do want to point out I really don't know how an institution like Mayo could survied with what Medicare pays. For istance and this is not exact number when I go into PACE clinic office I will usually have two tech working. Many times they have to contact a EP to confirm something. They will spend over an hour with me.
In the past when I had only one insurance and no medicare insurance would pay about 200.00 for a visit like this. Now Medicare will pay something like 79.00. Now May has parking, lot, lobby, elevators, receptionist, waiting rooms, equipment, and have two employees for 1 hour or more and only get 79.00 to pay for all that. It is not that I want to pay more but for centers like Mayo Clinics where even Medicare itself is a drain on them you can see where Medicare Advantage would propably pay even less.
