Workplace Violence Hurts ... It Almost Ended My World
Do you know of someone who has been made to feel worthless by a boss, company,or a culture; that promotes and rewards cruelty to human beings?
Do you think it's o.k. to go to work, work hard and be intentionally hurt by workplace bullies who abuse their power?
Just like bullying in classrooms/schools is leading to bullycide's and a host of psychological issues for our youth, adults in the workplace across the world are also suffering.
Workplace, discrimination and retaliation (if you report the sometimes unlawful behaviors):
Robs an individual of their self worth, causes enormous amounts of stress, exacerbates pre-existing health conditions, can limit one's career growth, results in the hard work one does not being recognized and can also include defamation of character, slander, hostile and unhealthy work environments and even SUICIDE!
Sometimes the behavior can be subtle but the abuser knows exactly what he or she is doing. Often the abuser is manipulative and convinces individuals who they perceive as weak to do the dirty work for them so when the behavior is finally reported they are protected.

You too my dear Rox
This happened to my friends husband. He quit a good job because he could not cope with the abuse. Why do you think this is allowed. He found another job but it took time because the employer continued to abuse him with bad recommendations. He had a pal call for a reference and recorded his boss making false statement. Needless to report he is suing that person.
This is depressing. I agree this is wrong
H i China sorry that your friend's husband went through this, Mine did. It unfortunately continues as people need to speak up, take action . In my husband's case it went too far and he had a breakdown. I blame myself in many ways I should have realized. I'm glad he is taking action. Wish him luck from me. Take care piglit
Yes it's very wrong and I'm glad your friends are getting legal advice. I used to think my case was an isolated case until a colleague who transferred to another facility told me that he too was being targeted.
He also told me his health has been impacted. I wish more people had a heart like my friends here.
Rox
He was smart taping supervisor making slanderous comments.

It sure would make a difference wouldn't it/ Unfortunately sometimes it's hard for people to speak out, because there health has been to affected to be strong enough to do it In Nigels case he just had to leave and was to unwell to fight a very unjust situation.
He sure was this will defintley make a difference if legal action occurs
So sorry Nige's health was also compromised and that he could not attempt to hold the abuser accountable. Let him know that although he may not be in the workplace nor around this bully anymore one day if it has not already happened that person that was cruel to him most likely did the same thing to someone else and that person fought for his or her rights to a healthy work environment. We may not always be around but I have faith that those who intentionally hurt human being's one day are stopped in their tracks.
Rox
I believe this too. Karma comes around don't you agree?
i sure do. Interestingly, if I suddenly had the power to do the same to though that have intentionally impacted my recovery.... I would not be able to do such things. I don't wish anyone human being harm. All I want is equality, respect and accountability. This is what separates me from them.
