Why is CKD Stage 3A downplayed? Am I over reacting to be concerned?
I just found out that I have Chronic Kidney Disease stage 3A. When I asked if I should be referred to a Nephrologist, I was basically admonished by my PCP. I was told I've had it for years and it's being monitored and at this point I need to wait for my next PCP visit. Great. Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I was at stage 1 or 2. Who knows lets wait until I hit stage 4. I met with a Urologist yesterday and it's no big deal. I'm 73 so it's to be expected. Jeesh!!

Docs don’t have meds for 3A…when that happens, all they can offer is hydration and diet advice, IF they even take time to do that….there are reliable sources of info out there…i double-check what I find… and read comments here…beware of hucksters promoting ‘’hidden’’ cures—there’s a lot of that online-Facebook carries many of their ads, even ones using AI to make it look like NBC and famous people endorse those. That said, there may be some info from Chinese medicine ? We can help ourselves.
My PCP told me that at Duke the nephrologists only see patients with eGFR of30 and below.
I did, however get a referral to a renal dietician.
