Why do I have constant pain and constipation when ulcerative colitis i
I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2016. Mayo put me on Entyvio in 2018 and I have been in remission ever since yet I suffer almost daily from abdominal pain and bloating with constipation. My doctor wants me to go back to Mayo for IBS but that is out of the question. Colace can be too hard on me at times but doctor says to take it daily as needed. Can anyone relate to any of this cycle. Thanks.

I have had IBS-C most of my life (I’m 70). I have tried everything and Colace has never helped. I have been using Senna (vegetable lax) for several years and it works great. Earlier this year I quit eating processed foods, no chips, crackers, any boxed food, nothing with seed oils, etc., and my stomach feels way way better. Very little pain and bloating. Good luck. Nothing worse than having a constant stomach ache.
I have had UC for 25 plus years. I have never really had typical flares. I have been on Entyvio for three years and not in full remission. But improvement for sure. I have also had several colon resections for cancer. Lately I have had bloating and constipation. Because I’ve had a bowel obstruction, I panic when I’m construed for more than a day or two. I take one magnesium oxide during that time and it helps .
Thanks. I will give it a shot. I'm sorry for all you've been thru. Are you now cancer free?
Thanks but senna made my pain worse. I will quit my crackers with seeds! I'm following a low fat diet. With UC it's hard to put lots of fiber into my diet.
