Posted by picartist @picartist, Oct 31 9:04am

I've asked my internist and my pulonary doc are my chest pains related to my lung disease and they say no. I don't get it. It is not heart and nothing else they can pin point, why are they stuck on this No answer?

Hi.
Are you talking about nebulizer or just aerobika?
It seems to take forever when I do nebulizer and aerobika.
I've watched so many huff coughing videos and there are all different techniques.
I've given up on the huff cough because of my osteoporosis.

@sheila7a The breathing/huff coughing or Aerobika or whatever other technique you use. I don't understand how huff coughing interacts with osteoporosis?

Hi.
My Pulmonologist said easy to break a rib with coughing when have osteoporosis.
I have to come up with a gentle way to huff cough and be effective at same time.
Still trying. I can get to aggressive with aerobika when in a hurry. Have to tell myself to slow down.
Are you doing saline in a nebulizer or just aerobika?
Are you still using saline to

@sheila7a I am doing 7% 2X day, Acapella 3X day, Guaifenesin 600mg 2X day and a huff or two. My issue seems to be mostly dry cough and I am now trying Nasacort in the morning and one spray of Asterpro about 6pm so it has a chance to stop draining down my throat at night which could be the issue. This whole thing is trial and error but it is nice to hear from others and see what they are doing and what works for them.

@sheila7a I use saline once a week unless I have an exacerbation, then daily. I do one of the following to start daily airway clearance: Aerobika, deep breathing plus huff coughing, Yoga, brisk walking or strenuous yard work. Any of these will start the mucus moving for me.

@sueinmn I've only been diagnosed about a year and a half ago. Is it uncommon to be told to do this twice daily with acapella three times? I would be curious to see how many others can stop the saline like you did. So far as I know, I have never had a serious exacerbation, just coughing up this junk. when either lying down mid day or using saline.

I haven’t had chest pain until my recent MAC diagnosis. I get the same response from doctors: no nerves in lungs , caused by coughing etc etc.
Not true in my experience. I’ve ruled out gastrointestinal and in the process of ruling out cardiac.
When I had pneumonia 30 years ago,
I had severe chest pain. Completely resolved with intravenous antibiotics.
If doctors would only listen to their patients.

I guess we find out about each other little by little.
I also have untreated whiplash.
Hit by a car when young.
No therapy.
You would think working in factories, unloading trucks, etc.
would make bones strong.
My cousin said osteoporosis runs in family.
Just finished pulmonary rehab so now need to get myself motivated.
Sometimes after running around all day I can just manage basic household chores. Some days I can't leave the house.
A lady at rehab told me her friend had untreated whiplash and she had to have a neck fusion!
