Stage 4 Cirrhosis: What to expect?
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cirrhosis a couple months ago and just wanted to hear people experiences, how the process works, what to expect with the process and any other useful information.

Hello,
I was also diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis in 2020. Since then I have been cared for at Mayo in Jacksonville. Each journey is different as our bodies respond to the disease. I have been fortunate in that my Hep C which caused the cirrhosis was treated and the virus cleared. Then I got liver cancer but it was caught early and treated with ablation of the tumor. I was on the transplant list but now am not because I have not had any more cancer and my liver is working fairly well. I will be monitored for five years to see if the cancer returns.
It is a journey and you will need to seek care but with some luck and good care you will be ok. Best of luck to you.
Good morning
Your journey will be unique to you. Depending on the cause of your chirrosis, there is hope for a possible cure. I had a liver transplant in October 2020. I have primary biliary cholangitis. It is an incurable disease. I take medication to help slow down progression and had a transplant as part of my treatment process. I was diagnosed in 2013. The best advice I can give is follow your doctor's care. Listen to them and do what they tell you. A transplant was the only solution for me. Good luck with your journey. And God's blessings. 🇨🇦🎄
