What surgery is recommended for kneecap dislocation

Posted by cv728 @cv728, Jun 4, 2023

I’ve been experiencing multiple kneecap dislocation over the past year. Each one pops completely out but comes right back in within that second. I am considering surgery as physical therapy and braces aren’t work as well, so which surgery would be recommended to at least lower the chances of another kneecap dislocation?

The physical therapist should be able to massage the knee cap back into place and then a splint for when you are active and strengthening the muscles around the knee should work. It can take awhile. You might also look at the pronation and age of your current shoes and ergonomics at work. My husband has just been working through this, himself, and osteo arthritis and inflammation are part of the issue. Try ice/heat?? Magnesium spray? KT tape (you tube directions). Surgery often does not have the effects we hope for.
