What numbers on an Echo should I be paying attention to?
My LVEF is 70%
My resting LV outflow tract gradient is 199 mmHg
GLS is -14.8%
This is all new to me and had the echo on March 5, 2025.
Any other numbers to pay attention to?
My Doc says it's all very significant. It's his first time prescribing Camzyos but needs to be certified so it's his first time prescribing although he's been a cardiologist for decades.
Should I be concerned? Thanks.

I can only comment on the EF number. I believe the normal EF is 50-70. Your's then is great showing a very robust and great EF.
My EF is 25. It is only on the left side and right side is normal EF. I am told my body compensated for my low EF caused by cardiomyopathy decades ago. I am very active physically and even do Sprint Triathlons.
I have not idea what outflow gradient or GLS should be or not be.
Hopefully you will ask your cardiologist what those numbers mean. He/she should have already explained them to you. I would call or send a message that you would like to know what the numbers mean.
Thank you so much. I am glad you do sprint triathlons. That's incredible. Live life to the fullest.
Your gradient and EF are important to understanding ykur LVOTO
30mmhg is concerning while >50 is considered severe
You seem to have severe LVOTO
I would highly suggest you contact a hospital of Excellence
Like Mayo, cleveland heart or any of the big heart hospitals!
Mayo got me on camzyos within a week
A doctor who is not on the REMS program could take weeks!
Please dont hesitate to seek that bigger hospital and do not hesitate to see what others are saying about HCM and LVOTO
Take care and best of luck
