What is your copay for HRT Combipatch .05/.25 ?
I just started HRT using the Combipatch .05/.25. I was very surprised that it costs $135/month. I have good insurance that I pay a fortune for, so I am not used to having to pay so much. I am wondering if it can be purchased at a discount some how. I live near the Canadian border and I would love to take a trip to Quebec!

I used goodrx and get it for @$63 a month. you can look at their website to find out who had the lowest price in your area. surprising the difference from one pharmacy to another.
I paid a lot for my part d (over $100 mo.) and found it no better than the $5 insurance. changing now.
still have over $600 deductible. goodrx goes up so watch if you use the gold membership ($10 a month)
you can download a copy for the pharmacy for free. you don't have to join to get a discount.
there are a couple of other discount sites like goodrx. singlecare is one. you cannot use your
own insurance if you use one of these sites. it is one or the other. if your drugs add up quickly perhaps paying with insurance would be best to get your deductible down....or not. you would need to check your policy.

1 ReactionCombiPatch doesn’t have a generic version currently. That may explain your high copay, especially if it’s on a non-preferred formulary tier.
The estrogen (estradiol) in CombiPatch is bioidentical, but the progestin part (norethindrone acetate) is synthetic. You can get the same estrogen from a much cheaper generic estradiol patch, and pair it with micronized progesterone (generic for Prometrium) which is bioidentical.
It’s worth discussing with your prescribing physician to see if switching is appropriate for you. My obgyn prescribed Vivelle-Dot (patch) and Prometrium (oral pill) - both have generics, and my 3mo supply costs $20 each (with commercial insurance). A nice bonus: Prometrium often helps with sleep when taken at bedtime.

4 ReactionsI was charged $230 for 1 month with the good rx coupon.
@samclembeau my part D does not cover it.
@maryandnans
if you look up on the internet it shows the prices it pays. 230 sounds like you may have picked a pharmacy that doesn't take goodrx. it is different prices at different pharmacies.
I checked out several pharmacies. I am wondering if it is the combipatch that was prescribed. Maybe another patch would be cheaper.
My prescription is for Combipatch .05/.25 and my copay is $135 in Maine USA.
I do lyllana patch and take progesterone separately. not sure when you add them together you would save much money, but as mentioned above, taking the progesterone at night does really help with sleep.
@seapen thanks I just don't understand how where you live affects the cost. I live in Missouri
@samclembeau thanks I will talk to my doctor
