What is next? Valve replacement cancelled due to weak heart function
Was scheduled for aortic heart valve replacement and aorta repair . Cancelled after cat skan and cath showed weak heart function . Symptoms are shortness of breath , especially at night ,Afib ( 100 per min ) .Fluid retention over the last couple weeks , just feel bad . Dr has increased metropolol to 75 twice per day . Added water pill.along with my regular high BP meds . Can stenting blockages help? What are the likely next steps ?

Hi
Be aware of Metopolol when doubled from 49 to 98 I could not breath in 2008.
Removed from it in 2010.
Restarted in 2019. But breathless, a zombie no exertion - couldnt. In 2021 24hr H Monitored tested.
On Metopolol 1 x 23.75 had 186 H/Rate Day, 47avg at Night with 2 sec pauses.
Changed to Bisoprolol tested 156bpm. No pauses or breathlessness 47 Night. Still uncontrolled.
2 years 3 months attended private Cardiologist. Started CCB Diltiazem. 180 1/2 dose too much. 120mg CD early morning with low dose Bisoprolol 2.5 Night.
Dropped Bisoprolol December as BP wemt crazy low.
Settled taking only Diltiazem 120mg CD.
H/Rate 80
BP 130/79
Finally settled controlling both BP and H/Rate.
Should have another 2 yearly ECHO. Discharged from Specialist Hospital Dec 2023.

Hello @mcroucher -
I wanted to check in to see how you are doing? You asked Connect the question of what is next after having to halt your treatment due to a weakened heart function.
Did your provider offer any insight as to whether or not there would be alternatives after the medications you were put on? Are the medications aimed at increasing your heart function in order to get the valve replacement? If you are comfortable sharing, what was the aorta repair aiming to treat?
