What is a time, activity, place, etc., that brought peace/serenity?

SCUBA diving always brought me peace. I think it was because I had to stay present and the beauty of being underwater.

I was maybe 10. We summered at an old time Catskill NY bungalow colony, animal and vegetable farm. Late one warm afternoon, I crept into the bottom of a big haystack, and lay there face up with the sun twinkling through the straw. I "became one" with the hay. Time stood still.
Then the spiders reminded me to get out.

@shmerdloff I had a similar experience except it was in the cattle barn at my grandparents. My cousin and I were kids, playing up in the hay loft. We had so much fun...later, however, my grandmother discovered ticks on both of us......ECK

This may seem odd but cleaning my church is my happy place. I enjoy being alone there. I sing and pray for my family, friends and church family. Also having a girls day out with my 32 year old granddaughter . Anytime with my family and friends are my favorite time..I'm 80 and very active. This is one of the best years of my life.😊

I stared at the sky looking for the meteor shower, and it forced me to be still and not move. It also gave me quiet time to think, which can be rare. 🌟

For me peace & serenity is achieved every morning when I walk my dog around 5:00 am and watch the sunrise over the Superstition Mountains. The birds are starting to sing, the hustle of the day hasn't begun yet. It's a reminder of how precious life is. I always give thanks to my donor & his family for gifting me extra time on this earth with my loved ones.

@gracie5858 So beautiful that you express your gratitude to your donor and his family on your early morning walk with your dog. I am a stage 4 appendix cancer survivor in remission who has so far defied the odds. I too share a similar routine with my 2 dogs. It’s a very special time of day. Love the fresh new day and the peacefulness. I never let my mind deal with problems during that walk. It’s a time to commune with nature and count my blessings I am still here to enjoy it

As soon as I immerse myself in water I feel free and alive. Swimming is my salvation. I love how my body weightless and enveloped in a soothing medium.

@laurabamford4015 I truly love water as well, especially the ocean. I do not have a pool, would love that. Maybe one day.

I grew up on a farm in the 1950's with 40 acres of Douglas Fir trees on a dirt road. We had a little house and a barn. Summers were so peaceful with just me and Mom and 4 dogs, 6 cats and kittens, my horse, Ginger and our 400 lb. black Angus bull, Woody and the black Angus cows. It was peaceful and quiet. We picked wild black berries, huckle berries, salmon berries and lots of wild flowers. Sometimes we had picnics by the little stream. Everything was so safe. The nearest neighbors lived a mile away. Sometimes the only person we ever saw was the mail lady when she delivered the mail in her own car. She was so nice and always stopped and visited with us. It was a very pleasant memorable time in my life.
