What different medications control rhythm

Posted by jwooders3 @jwooders3, Feb 27, 2024

I’m an 81 year old female with a CRT pacer. I have a history of chronic A-fib and recently had a Super Ventricular Tachycardia episode. Historically I’ve resisted using various heart meds because they slow my heart too much, make me fatigued and/or cause my thinking to lose its sharpness. Also, I’ve had typical dermatitis from numerous medications. My new cardiologist gave me amlodipine.
What are some of the choices or problems people here have had?

Hopefully this will be a trend and that you can go off it in due time. Be patient, be kind to yourself (and to others), try to normalize your daily routine, try to unlax a bit so that your heart is not so sensitive to adrenergic stimuli (if this is your main trigger). I think optimism may be your best friend here.

It’s for my dad, but I hope so. I didn’t make that clear. Thank you for the kind words. He’s wanted off that med for a long tine.

Sorry, Celia....I lose some of the fine details about people to whom I reply. Yes, let us all hope your dad is on the mend. 😀
