What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

I’m recovering from my single mastectomy and waiting to find out the next steps and whether chemo will be involved. Since I’ve been off work I’ve been enjoying the down time, reading (which I love), spending extra time with my 3 boys, and staying up late watching TV. I’m trying to find all the positives and enjoy the time I have off the best I can.
I wrote a “ thank you” to all of you! I think it’s down a few messages!! Still figuring out this site!!
Thank you for all the hugs and likes. It’s so nice to have people who understand these type things. I pray you all find help and do well.
My wife are traveling in our RV. We went to the Henry Ford museum near Detroit. It was amazing. We got to see the Ford F-150 factory line making trucks, the the car Kennedy was in when he was assassinated, the car Reagan was pushed into when he was shot at, the real bus that Rosa Parks was riding in Montgomery Alabama in 1957 and actually got to sit in her seat, one of the 30 copies of the declaration of Independence made after it was signed, letters written by Washington during the revolutionary war and even the chair that Lincoln was sitting in when he was assassinated at Ford's theater. And so much more
I was treated with chemo for NHL in 2005. After completing all chemo, I developed excruciating pain. First dx-fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain and chronic fatigue. Later, I was diagnosed with Chemo induced peripheral neuropathy. It’s been a pretty rough 20 years.
However, here are some things that bring me lots of joy.
-My two daughters and their husbands
-My two precious granddaughters
-reading my morning daily Christian inspirational books
-Thinking about everything I have to be grateful for
Thanks for letting me share!!
A friend sent a funny cartoon.
My great oncologist made me laugh.
I am still connecting with God!
Realizing that it's a great day *and* I have stage 4 cancer. The two are not mutually-exclusive.
My adult children both home for the week
My friend calling

Sewing buttons on a shirt
My bagel
Every service around me has raised their prices because my town has gentrified and people don't even flinch when they're told it's $500 a month to cut their lawn. That's too expensive for me being newly retired.
So, I bought: a lawnmower, a weed whacker and a power washer all for < $1,000. Yesterday, I cut the lawn and did the weeds. Today I power washed and the porch, grill, and car are sparkling. The whole thing took about four hours over two days and looks great if I can brag a little.
I invited some friends over and, in a couple hours, I'm going to grill some salmon and probably drink a beer. I rarely drink but I think I've earned it today!
I just found this thread today. I started reading from the newest and reached to this point where you gave a big shout out to North. Today is a good day. I am happy for you folks!
