I wear zippered compression socks to control the swelling in my legs but it doesn't help with the discomfort. Has your doctor recommended compression socks?

I have a custom made foot cap for my toes, but after a while it feels like my foot is in a vice. I don't wear it often but I try. I am wearing thigh high compression stockings because I had sclerotherapy a couple of weeks ago for spider veins. I'm using a LV BASE (Sequential Circulator Device) that was ordered by my PT. It feels good and is supposed to move the fluid up to my gut. I've just had it a week. I'm drinking limon water now, and researching other things to help.
Thanks,
Suzi

Hello @suzig, Welcome to Connect. I'm so sorry you have pain with your lymphedema. I have lymphedema in my legs and have to wear compression socks daily as the treatment. They help control the swelling and even though they are not painful, I always feel the squeezing on my legs and it's a relief to take them off at bedtime. Another thing I do is elevate my legs slightly on the bed at night which helps the lymph system get the fluids out of the system. Exercise along with drinking a lot of water also helps the system from what I've read.

There is an older discussion that has a few members still active that you might want to view to learn what others have shared here:

John,
Thanks for your understanding and support. I wonder if some of the pain is not from the lymphedema because I get sharp pain all the way to my ankle. The trobbing and needles never really go away. The sharp pain is in different places and for no reason that I can identify. I elevate my leggs as much as possible. I am a "couch puddle" instead of just a couch potatoe. May try to get another appointment to see what's going on. Thanks again.

Hello, I am in Portugal and I suffer for many years of back pain. Recently I had a diagnostic of Bertolotti syndrome. I made an radio frequency treatment but with no success. Do you have any specialist on this disease? Is it possible to make an online appointment with the doctor? I have terrible pain, increasing everyday. Thank you very much, best Regards.

Hi Darryl. This is good news. I have heard of ketamine infusions and how some people get relief. I looked into ketamine once but like you say, it's not covered by insurance. I think your best bet is to contact the office that is scheduling you and ask them how much it is out of pocket. I'm sure prices vary.

Darryl - how great that you will have a furry companion to keep you company! Best of luck with your move to Tampa Bay. I hope the warm weather helps your CRPS. Is that why you are moving?
