Saw neurologist yesterday and he is repeating mri from a month ago to see if it’s aggressive and help determine if it’s benign. Blood pressure was super high 180 over 122. Put me on propanal
Said he saw a slight Freon in right hand and gave me a I’ll Retztropin for emergencies in the mean time. Said radiation can destroy good your as weak as bad and tumor in a tough place. Oncologist recommending radiation a few weeks ago? I see him Dec 2. Don’t know if I should get mri or wait to see oncologist. Both drs are sure it’s benign.

@zeedee1 I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this uncertainty right now. Not knowing if this menigioma is benign or cancerous must be so frightening and you’re being incredibly brave. If you’re waffling about the MRI, my suggestion is to lean more towards getting it taken before your oncologist appointment. That way both doctors would have the results and can make an informed decision on whether it’s changed or not. The results may impact the treatment plan laid out by the oncologist. Wishing you only good news, my dear. Please let me know, ok?

@zeedee1 - I am also Non-Hodgkin lymphoma patient (DLBCL) who experienced lymphoma metastasis to the brain before diagnosis. My brain tumors were in inoperable locations and the DLBCL diagnosis was obtained from tumors in other body areas.

It is good, as @loribmt has encouraged, that you are pursuing the next brain MRI. It is hopeful that your doctors believe it is a benign tumor and hopefully the next MRI will show stability and you will not experience any neurological impacts.

I would also suggest asking your doctor about the location of your tumor and possible neurological impacts even if it is benign as they suspect. I experienced some imbalance/equilibrium issues that became more severe before my diagnosis.

Wishing you all the best.
