Unknown Heart Condition

So I am getting referred here from my heart doctor from Northwestern hospital from Illinois. Has anyone else experienced this? I get chest pain multiple times a day, I see blackening in my vision (it's better now that I am on metoprolol (100 mg) but it still happens), I also get lightheaded at times along with a type of headache. I am positive for autoimmune (positive ANA test) but unsure what. I don't know if that's related to anything that's going on with my heart. This occurs everyday multiple times. Before taking metoprolol, it would feel like I would faint all the time. I still feel that way at times but it's better now that I am on that medication.

It's when I yawn, stretch, move around, any time I tend to just step breathing for a moment. Then after that, I get this spell where I see blackness pulsing in my vision, chest pain, a headache, and sometimes lightheadedness and I feel like I'll pass out. The chest pain feels like I am on a roller-coaster.

Wow. Do you also have a neurologist? This sound complex and hard to untangle!

I have! I even seen a neuro ophthalmologist that specializes in the eyes and nerves in the head. They have no clue unfortunately. Hopefully someone here at Mayo could figure it out. I’ve been needed to get a autonomic nervous system study done but I can’t get it done until next year so I was thinking Mayo could figure it out quicker since we don’t know if this is part of my heart or nerves or something.

Keep us posted if you have a chance. So sorry this is so hard to diagnose and treat.

It sounds as if you do not know is if your condition is caused by your heart vs your heart problems are a part of a greater disease yet to be determined.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. I’m getting a call from Mayo this Monday to discuss my symptoms and see when I can get an appointment!
