Understanding Chronic Bronchitis
I had chronic Bronchitis, here's why? Like 99% of all of us I was never told that Bronchitis is not a lung cold, it's a usually bacterial infection! We all take over the counter meds but their labels say "temporarily relieves symptoms associated", therefore they don't kill Bronchitis infections thus they recur (chronic) & they can manifest into Pneumonia over time which is why many with COPD die. Proper treatments are a must. Rounds of Antibiotics may kill the infection then step by step virtual rehab can give better results. Granted there's no cure yet but COPD can be better managed. I can't count how many times I went to my e r as i hit the threshold of stage 4. 8 years later, I'm low stage 2. How? I stuck with a 12 week rehab program then continued it daily on my own. I'm no longer on supplimental oxygen or needing a wheelwalker or battery cart. My 2018 FEV1% was 34% then 28%, 2025 my FEV1% is 70%. Nobody is 100% damaged or we'd all be dead. I'm alive today because I acted promptly, I didn't wait months to see my primary Dr only to be sent home for another 6 months. The top 2 Antibiotics are Azithromicin or Doxycycline. Yes over the counter meds work nicely with Antibiotics, but all these over the counter temporary relief products people are taking not getting better & not knowing why is baffling. Now you know 🙂

Yes all very familiar, this is so cliche but true, I moved into a studio when my retirement started. I have no people through almost never
I don't go out unless I have to, more trouble than it's worth. However since I moved in here exactly 3 1/2 years ago, I have not had an infection or visit to e.r. In my case Isolation works for me
Prior to that I was a regular at several er 's here in Las Vegas for years and years, I've had chronic bronchitis since infancy. A serious pneumonia at 3 mos old left me scarred for life, literally. Now I also have emphysema 3 rd stage. I desat to 85-88 in two minutes or less in motion, scary stuff
Which is why I stay safe at home . I hope things get better for you too.
