Traveling with Inogen Stationary Concentrator

Posted by mountain72 @mountain72, Apr 23 3:23pm

Hi there. I use the Inogen Rove 6 portable pulse concentrator when I'm out and about and need O2 (I typically need it if I get sick, during recovery, and during strenuous exercise). I'm thinking about purchasing the Inogen stationary concentrator for when I travel to another country where obtaining a stationary O2 unit will be a hassle. That way, I can still use the portable while sightseeing and have the stationary at my airbnb for use at night, etc. This unit weighs 18 pounds and will fit in a carry-on. Has anyone else tried this? I'm hoping it will free me up to travel to Europe from the US again.

@tia8marie yes I have been on supplemental oxygen for 5 1/2 years. Have learned a lot on living with it. I have between 30 and 35 percent lung capacity.

I wish I could use a portable o2 concentrator at night time. I have 2 different POC’s. One goes up to 3 liters on continuous and the other one that I have goes up to 2 liters on continuous. Unfortunately, I am on 4 liters continuous, so I need to use a stationary concentrator at nighttime. I am going on a cruise in 2 weeks. I’ll take my 2 POC’s with me and I rented a stationary concentrator that will be delivered to my Suite. What we will do to travel, right? LOL
