Top left teeth are constantly in Pain. Last Dentist said it was sinus
I went to my normal dentist to have an old root canal cleaned up because it had turned my gum black and I was never the same after. I lost all saliva then all of my left top back teeth started hurting. I went to a holistic dentist who took the cap off cleaned it out and built my bone up. I was fine for a year while waiting for the bone to grow. I wore an invsalign with the tooth 12 painted white. 3 weeks after putting my implant in it all started over again. He did ex rays and a CT scan and said I had a sinus infection and it was hitting my roots. He's 3 hours away so I decided to go to the dentist who started this whole mess. They did a CT scan also and said it was a sinus infection. So I went to an ENT and she said it wasn't bad enough to do surgery. So, Im back at the dentist again and now I'm waiting for an appt for an oral surgeon. Every waking hour I am miserable. Anyone out there who has any ideas? Im at my Witts end. This implant cost 11,000, but I will have it taken out if my pain will go away. 🙁

That is very hopeful. I have never heard of that surgery. I can't go on much longer with this pain. I am literally going crazy. It has been months. I had a CT scan, but the ENT said that I should see an oral surgeon. She said the infection didn't look bad enough to go into. I don't know.
I paid 11,000 for a tooth implant with a 3 hour drive to have the same symptoms come back after 3 weeks. I went back to that dentist twice to only hear everything looks perfect. I guess I will see what the oral surgeon says on the 10'th.
I would encourage you to be persistent. My PCP and my general dentist dismissed my concerns. It was a specialist ENT in the Rhinology Dept that told me I needed surgery and to see an oral surgeon. I was disappointed that they took yet another X-ray although my CT scan was on file and offered to extract the tooth. That was their only course of action, or I could see an endodontist to determine if the tooth could be repaired. It’s terrible that you have spent so much money and are still in pain.
You are doing a good job of following up with various doctors. As a last resort now I would suggest you find a good allergist/immunologist. I have one in the Chicago area that is amazing. It can’t hurt to see if one could help you at this point.
Oh I am. I am Miserable. I don't know how to not be Persistent at this now. Now we are going into yet another Season that I will be suffering with this. I didnt even think about going to an Endodontist. I can imagine what that wait time is for that. And I agree. We don't have a lot of money so that money for that implant was No Joke!!!
Honestly, anything would help at this point. I just feel hopeless.
Thank you so much for suggesting those doctors.
I encourage you to make an appointment with an Endodontist to scan and review. Cost likely $350. But ask. They should have a Machine that scans in 3D . No dentist I’m aware of has an x-ray machine that can do more than 2D. Have your dentist send the scans or X-rays they’ve taken in advance of your appointment.
I had similar terrible pain and thought for certain that it was my upper teeth. The pain was in my sinus and ear as well. But the endodontist confirmed the teeth were not the cause. The ENT put me on Augmentin for 12 days , and even after 60 days the following ; Fluticasone 1x every day , saline nasal wash 3x every day, Levocetrizine 1x every day, Azelestine 1x just started. (Btw two attempts with Amoxicillin didn’t work.)
But the ENTs plan worked !!! I’m pain and infection free. But it’s taken 2 1/2 months and likely will need another month to totally shake this
Thankyou so much!!!! I am going to find an ENT this minute.
Not sure if this will help. I had a loose implant, and the tooth next to it was extracted. No infection. But there was constant pain in the lower left of my mouth. I have an ultrasonic toothbrush. I also bought a Waterpik. I fill it with warm water and 1/4- 1/2 teaspoon of salt. I aim the pic right at the gumline with it pointed to direct stream into between teeth and gums. When done, fill the Waterpik again with plain water and run for a minute to flush out salt. Dried salt crystals inside the water pic can eventually clog it up, and it will stop working. Waterpik Company does not endorse using salt; they want you to buy some medicated water.
When I have sinus issues, I use a neti pot. They sometimes look like a weird little teapot. follow directions to fill it, either with sterilized water and a bit of salt.. You can also boil the water yourself to save money. Let water cool, fill the nettie pot. Over the sink, tilt your head to the right so the left nostril is higher than the right. Slowly pour the water into your left nostril. The water will flow through and out of the right nostril. It will flush out pollen, irritants, phelm, etc. Repeat the procedure for the other nostril. I know it sounds weird, and somewhat alarming, but you get used to it rather quickly.
I am in my late 70s now. I find my immune system definitely does not work as well as it used to. When I get run down, not eating the right foods, sleeping enough, getting anxious about some situation, etc. My teeth start to hurt in three areas of my mouth.
I had this back in my 20's so bad and went to the dentist and though what ??? when he said it's sinuses! It got better with antibiotics and Demurral I took one pill and threw up and went to bed and slept for 16 hours! I still have it from time to time during allergy season. I take Zyrtec or Claritin before bed every night now and Zyrtec works better but Claritin does not make me as foggy so I try to only use Zyrtec when it's really bad. It's like clockwork around 4ish in the afternoon headaches, sneezing, eyes, and teeth. It's really miserable but the antihistamines have been a game changer. Allergy season in Virginia is from mid February to late June, and starts all over again mid August to late November.
