@plgirl When they did the revision felt great. I woke up in less pain because was the right size . Walked up stairs same day. Therapy a lot of the same pain getting your flexion and extension back. But you can do it . Because if it works out they get it right pain be gone you can get as much extension and flexion as your body will let you. For me lasted over a year started losing flexion little by little now few years out I am at maybe 70-75. I have Arthrofibrosis. So it is a struggle everyday. But anyway that is not that case for you . A revision I know it sucks because we know what we have to look forward to lol. But my first experience was actually totally awful I woke up in so much pain I was dreading a revision. But to my surprise revision was the better of the two. You got this one day at a time .
@ezas123 Thanks. How long after the second revision did the arthofibrosis settle in? Any way to prevent it? You are right--this is really awful. Is your leg better now than before the second revision? Is the arthrofibrosis painful, or does it just make your knee stiff? Hope you don't mind all the questions.
@ezas123 it took a year to get the IT band to loosen up. It was painful from after TKR for months.
Same issue Dr .recommended PRP injection $600-800 out of pocket
Going to try it. The pain and being uncomfortable is getting to be to much
Also going to se see spine specialist…..
I did PRP for both my elbows. I had some pain relief for about 6 months. It was $500. for first and they tried to charge me $750. for the second one. No I paid the $500. Only problem I needed surgery for both elbows and because I waited the bone spurs that were causing the pain did more damage and my surgery and recovery was so much more difficult.
Just my experience. Good Luck 🍀
@dairyfairy9293
Just a quick question for you: Did you have general anesthesia or regional and why?
Thanks.
@steveinarizona
I had general anesthesia for the surgeries. I had a local for PRP.
@dairyfairy9293
I asked because my hand surgeon told me that I needed surgery on each arm and it had to be general anesthesia which I am afraid of.

1 Reaction@plgirl just makes it stiffen up. Scar tissue comes back a lot faster and a lot more of it . Can’t prevent it is either you have it or you don’t. Best thing you can do is just keep moving. Not aggressively just slow and steady. After my first knee surgery I could not even sit for more than 5 minutes at a time. The tkr was nothing like that. It is scary to go through this again I know . Anymore questions don’t hesitate to ask . I am going to pt right now my extension is ten degrees off normal , my flexion is at 70 so I am always work in progress lol
