Titanium plate and screw irriation years after brain surgery

Posted by jrolando @jrolando, 1 day ago

I had a crainiotomy in September of 2022 and was patched with a titanium plate and screws on the right temporal side of my skull. Within the passed few months, I've noticed some new symptoms of the hardware being there that I did not feel before. Several times I day I experiencea squirmy, bubbly, crawly feeling right where the plate and screws are. I notice this area is also a little more sensitive than usual and sometimes I feel brief sharp pains--like a zap. My neurologist has perscribed me gabaptentin, which I have taken before, in hopes to subside nerve pain.
Does anyone else relate to these symptoms? Should I be worried?

I had a craniotomy in 2023 and from time to time will also feel those brief, sharp zaps of pain. It's not often enough or painful enough for me to take gabapentin. Gabapentin makes me feel weird in my head. Just make sure you get your annual MRI brain scan.
