Are you sure this is from a TIA? Did you have Covid? This is a common long lasting effect of Covid.

Hi, I have had a couple of strokes . Not a lot of lasting effects from them but losing my taste is one . The dr. Has told me it's an unfortunate thing but there is nothing too be done.

I hope some of the ideas at this link help you. One comment there is to "ask your doctor." Since yours is of no help, definitely get a second opinion or new doctor. I once got the best guidance from third and fourth doctors. Keep googling for more information. I'm still finding new info after two years of searching. And I'll keep looking. I use word of mouth: bring up the topic with others because you never know who might know something that's helpful. Online support groups are people who have gone through similar searches for relief and might have advice. This has worked for me. And it's a relief simply to connect with those who truly understand your experience. I acknowledge the struggle is real while counting my blessings. I don't deny my feelings (sad, frustrated), and I remember that there are so many people suffering so much. Counseling can provide needed structure and accountability (it really is true that if the first therapist isn't a good fit, it can help to try again). I choose to live out a Christian faith. I trust God to provide constant, infinite wisdom, power and peace. It doesn't get any better than that!!! Best wishes to you.
