Temporal lobe seizures

Posted by avaaaaaaaaa @avaaaaaaaaa, Feb 28 11:11pm

Does anybody else feel extremely depressed and feel as if life is impossible to enjoy with having temporal lobe seizures? I can’t do anything normally because my memory is horrible and it’s embarassing. I cannot have conversations with people because I forget what I am talking about mid sentance. HEEELLLLPPPPPP

What is the reason ? Or is it oxycarbazine faults?

Hi there,
i'm sorry to hear that you have diabetes. Have you had it all your life?
I don't know that I could survive Diabetes since I love sugar. Currently I don't have any of the 5 major food groups, candy, cookies, cakes, pies, and pastries on hand since I’m in the process of losing weight.
I've had epilepsy for 58 years, probably 98% tonic-clonic seizures but also absences, focal aware & focal impaired too.
Are your seizures controlled? I only remember one focal aware seizure, it was a déjà vu episode.
What are yours like?
Take care,
Jake

Hi @simplepartialman1
It seems you are having complex partial seizures. I do also have them and depending on the intensity, I can stay 1 hour without being able to speak properly. Headaches usually follow after those seizures.
My husband has told me that I speak out the word NO before those seizures start. Then I just stare and stay silent.
Here is a link with more information on those seizures also called focal impaired awareness seizures today.

Thanks, that’s is what I have been diagnosed with, from my T1d after having it for 40+ years, seems like low blood sugar/ complex partial seizures are now happening when BS is normal, but now I’m also getting seizure after affect , tired, headache….etc….Nuerologist have said it was due to the length of the T1D, however, they all may be wrong.. noticed it ever since I started taking statins to control my LDL about 10 years ago….. just a guess.

Hi @simplepartialman1, Good morning
I can add very little to diabetes related to epilepsy, unfortunately. But my advice is always to try to get the best knowledge you can on your health situation and not leave all in the doctor's hands. By reading and studying epilepsy, I once asked my neurologist at that time (2020) to do an exam he said it was unnecessary. But I insisted and I did this exam. This exam has shown that I have a sclerosis on my left temporal lobe, explaining several things. The best is to be treated by an epileptologist.
All my best to you!
