Tele visits for parent in China with HCM?

Hi,

I'm a Chinese working in the US. My mom is 70 year old and currently lives in China.

In September, my mom fainted once. She went to the hospital and was told that the blood supply to brain was insufficient and they prescribed some medicine.

One week ago, she was climbing upstairs and she felt that she had similar symptoms as last time. So she called my sister immediately and they went to the hospital. She was hospitalized and got some treatment for the getting the low blood pressure back to normal and got a coronary stent placed.

At the same time, the doctor did some advanced diagnosis and identified HCM(15mm). They think her HCM comes with heart failure.

Does Mayo Clinic provide tele-visits / second opinion for HCM for international patients? How does the medicine(Camzyos, Aficamten, etc.) work compared with the surgery? Are elder people suitable for taking surgeries?

Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Support Group.

After 2 heart attacks and the mild one 3rd one, I am using Camzyos 5 mg and I am doing great.
I am being treated by Cardiologist Dr. David Raymer. Call at his office phone (720) 848-5300 and see if you can have a tele appointment. They did that for me.
Best luck to you and your family.

Hello @manuelpo, they may have you go through the formal appointment request process which you can also do here, http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63. There is a section for international patients after you click on that link.
