teen experience after inguinal hernia surgery as a toddler
I want to be aware of any risks or predispositions I have because I had an inguinal hernia surgery (what I assume it is after hearing my parent's account of it) when I was a toddler. Not sure on the exact age I had it but it was at least 13 years ago. I recently got into fitness and now I'm wondering, do I have anything to worry about? My parents recently brought up me having to wear some kind of tight briefs when I trained to be safe but will that really help?

Hi @john54326, this is a good question to ask your doctor.
Here is some general guidance from Mayo Clinic:

Both strength training and cardio exercise are good things for one's health. Given your history as a baby, it would be best to check with your doctor if there are any specific exercises you should avoid or precautions you should take.
I understand. I'll try asking my doctor as soon as possible. Thank you!
