I am wondering in a person in their 80s with progressive dementia/alzheimers can ever recover from a pretty significant brain injury. ??
My daddy passed, he is now with Jesus and the angels.😇😭💔
I am so sorry you’re going through this. I experienced this same thing with my dad. He had told us years before that he didn’t want extra special things done. Now would be the best time for you and your siblings and mother to talk about what your dad wants and who will speak for him because he can’t. My mother had been named as his medical power of attorney but she asked me to talk to doctors and make decisions (I’m an oncology nurse so could understand what the doctors said). The very best thing for your mother is that all the siblings agree so there is no stress and arguments. I wish you much luck and love. Becky

@purple6942, I sorry to hear of your loss. Along with your grief, I know you are managing many arrangements and family now. It is a busy time and a real whirlwind. When you're ready, I want you know that there is Loss & Grief group here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/loss-grief/
What is one memory of your dad that makes you smile?
Thank you all for your care and comforting words. My mom is soo strong and she has all 8 of us kids and 34 immediate family members with her this week. The COVID19 might affect the funeral though, only 10 people allowed at a time?!?! Cant really work for a service.
