T3b Prostate Cancer with Seminal Vesicle Invasion

Posted by Tom @tom86, Dec 13, 2023

I was wondering if anyone had the diagnosis of T3b Stage PCa and had a Prostectomy where Seminal Vesicle Invasion was found. What was the post op treatment, BCR, and prognosis? Thank you.

I looked further through the pile of papers I reviewed after my surgery, and found another related to this question. They conclude "...The frequency of BCR was 33.9% in cases with combined EPE [extraprostatic extension] and SVI [seminal vesicle invasion] versus 12.5% in cases with SVI alone..."

Thank you. This is one I had not seen. I appreciate any info I can locate. Even Dr. Walsh's book has very little to say regarding SVI

My inquiry on T3b Seminal Vesical Invasion wasn't on the main board for long. Wondering if any new viewings on the subject, prognosis, personal experience with it, etc? Happy and Healthy New Year to all.

I had the same diagnosis 23 years ago. I’ve had several recurrences since, radiation treatments and hormone therapy. Two years ago I got a PSMA PET scan which showed four cancerous pelvic lymph nodes only. I had them radiated and went on Nubeqa for 24 months, which ends day after tomorrow. My current PSA is < 0.008. I’m hoping it stays that way. Whatever treatment you consider get the best scan you can get and be as aggressive as you can to kill whatever cancer you may have. Good luck. You have lots of company.

My Gleason was 4+5=9. Grade T3b. Had RP 3.9.22. Followed by 39 rounds of radiation which ended 1.13.23. So far all quarterly PSA tests have been < 0.01. So far so good.

My Gleason was 4+4. Involement of seminal vesicals, bladder neck, lymph nodes. Doc said surgery was not an option. I was put on Zoladex and Abiraterone for 3 months and then IMRT (Tomotheraphy) 20 factions in Jan-Feb last year. My PSA has been around 0.03 for the last few months.
