Thank you. I have had my GB removed many years ago. Have had three bouts of pancreatitis, only the first one attributed to alcohol. I keep getting “idiopathic” pain in my URQ into back after meals starts out mild after occasional meals now it’s all the time no matter size, frequency, type. This happened 3 years ago with no findings. My grandmother on my father’s side died of pancreatic cancer and now my father dies just a few months ago of PC. Maybe I’m just being ultra paranoid now…
Thank you for your reply ❤️

Pain in back, stomach queasiness ( not nausea), fatigue: not as much
energy, had to push, less get-up-and-go. Stayed home more.

He is only taking Levison and that isn’t evening helping him now. We have tried diets, vitamins all kinds of things and nothing so now we are waiting for the GI doctor to call him back and let him decide what to do. They were trying to expedite his MRCP test.

Definitely try a different ER next time if you can. Also a couple cheap, simple blood tests might reveal something. CA19-9 is the typical tumor marker for pancreatic cancer. Elevated levels are not definitive, but might reveal something else, so it's worth asking for. Keep an eye out for jaundice (most easily seen in the eyes) and/or itching as possible signs of PC.

The only symptom that I had was middle back pain and the orthopedic doctor said it was due to spinal arthritis. Later, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer I looked for what the symptoms are and found back pain. Pancreatic cancer seen on CT for lungs due to having quit smoking for 15 years then PET scan to see what nodules in lungs had developed & found lung nodules were from the pancreatic cancer spreading not from smoking.

My wife had lower back pain that was first diagnosed as a digestive issue or kidney infection. It took two CT scans to see the tumor on her pancreas and mets to her liver.

When getting scanned, it would be best to get both with and without contrast up front to rule out cancer or save time to get to a positive diagnosis.

Pain right at the top of my stomach. "Severe" was an understatement.
