@rocky313
I see you are a long-term member of Connect, but first post. Glad you reached out. A new diagnosis of cancer is always scary; I have been there, but I have not had any transplants. I can not answer your question directly. I know last time I was in the hospital, they took me off some of my medications. But went back on them after release.
Would you care to share more information? From the comment, I assume you had a kidney transplant in the past. What type of cancer were you diagnosed with? Is the cancer why you ended up in the ICU?
Wishing you the best.

1 ReactionHi, @rocky313. I want to add my experience about transplant meds and cancer diagnosis. Before my transplant and my immunosuppressant medications, I had signs of possible cancer. And I had to be removed from the active transplant waiting list until / or if a biopsy could prove me to be free of cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). I was told that if I had cancer, that the immunosuppressant meds would allow the cancer spread rapidly, thus ruling out a successful transplant. From my experience, I am wondering if you are off your immunosuppressant meds so that you can receive cancer treatment(?).
Rocky, Is your kidney transplant team involved or in communication with the ICU medical team?
