Still no taste or smell?
I don't know if anyone has asked this but I had covid 4years ago and to this day still can not taste or smell anything and the things that I can taste or smell are not the same as before covid. Is anyone else still having these problems?

Same here, except it will be 3 years in December that I lost my taste and smell. I believe it began with my very first Covid Injection of Pfizer. I detected a metal taste in the back of my throat almost immediately after the first injection. I now have Long Covid, which initially, consisted of brain fog, balance issues, stuttering, headaches, body tremors, terrible neuropathy in my left foot and leg, nausea and loss of taste and smell. To this day, I still have no taste or smell and still get body tremors if I over extend myself (I’m only 69) which I try not to do, because if I do, I get body tremors and sleepless nights. Needless to say, it’s been a bit of hell and I’m so ready to be normal again.

1 ReactionI have had no taste and very little smell since November of 2020. I still keep faith that someday it will come back. I have tried just about everything I read. Nice to have others to talk to

3 ReactionsJust wanted to add update to inspire hope. My smell/taste disorder and post covid syndrome were diagnosed by ENT after covid early Sept 2023. I had substantial improvement in sense of smell after 10 months. Scored substantially higher on smell test at doctor’s office.
However, I continued with a constant bitter/metallic taste though. That has improved lately so that it’s about 70% better! I’m ecstatic but still cautious. Hoping it will continue to improve. I haven’t done anything different in the last several months that I might attribute it to. I eat right, exercise and take supplements as recommended by my doctors. I was really wondering if there would be any improvement after such a long time.
Celia, so very happy for your improvement in the decreasing metallic taste. I'm still also hoping and praying for improvement in my zero taste or smell of five years! Let's keep going.

1 Reaction@urbanski , I hope yours returns too. I can’t imagine going through that for so long. Sending positive vibes and thoughts your way! How are you managing?
Smell and taste are senses that we are so used to. Before post covid I never gave it much thought. No one ever thinks what if I were to lose my smell and taste….it was never on my radar. We might think what if we get sick, what if we get injured, have an illness…..etc. But smell/taste disorder? Just isn’t a common thing. Maybe that’s why no doctor I consulted with had any idea of how to address it. Just looked blank……..
You are right. It just wasn't on our radar. I keeping hoping and praying! Faith is...."even if". I think in time more studies will be done.
I, too, lost senses of taste amd smell when I had Covid-19 2+ years ago. It would be helpful to get back at least the part of sense of smell that alerts a person to something that is wrong - gas fumes, smoke, noxious odors from anything. It would be nice to taste chocolate again, but not tasting chocolate won't harm me. or others. Not smelling some things could be serious, and if not serious, at least embarrasing.
